miamibaseball
we rebound good after that bad series last week. now pitching staff doing much better in this series too we seen few long ball too
EricWiener
The Dodgers sweep was a rough series because we could have taken 2 out of 3. The only bad series put up by this team was the opening series against the Mets.
MarlinFan10
I hope Hopper and Miller can turn into reliable starters, because we're in need of reliable starters so so badly.
Eddie Altamonte
Our starters are really coming around and the bats continue to produce. This team has deserved to be in 1st place. Our bullpen is first rate if our starter develop consistency we will continue to win games. Now if the fans start supporting the team it would be a wonderful season
Hammerhead
I hope Hopper and Miller can turn into reliable starters, because we're in need of reliable starters so so badly. Meh. I wouldn't look at this start as a turning point for Badenhop. The Brewers' offense has been slumping something nasty. All Rich and Tommy could say was how impressive he was. Me? I'm more impressed with Waechter's 0.72 ERA.
FutureGM
Great game, I was there tonight. Great performance by Badenhop. I hope that he turns it around after this, but I'm not going to jump to any conclusions... Hanley, Cantu, Uggla and Jacobs all played really well. Jacobs was robbed of a HR, although at least he got 2 RBIs out of it.

If you WATCHED the game you could see he had command of his pitches early and had some great K's. 7k's in 5 2/3 IP is incredible. Now he just needs to work on lasting a little longer but he only allowed 1 ER....  As an optimist I would look at his last start and this start as the beginning of a trend for him. But you always seem so negative.

But you always seem so negative. There's a difference between negativity and realism. He wasn't as impressive as some are making him out to be. Because of the defense (mainly Amezaga), he didn't really have to make any huge pitches. He got into trouble in the 6th and he was yanked. Waechter made the big pitches to get Hall to K. And it's not like he was consistently fooling the Milwaukee lineup. He was getting hit plenty hard. Encouraging? Yes. "Sick"? No. Mindblowing? Hell no. Erick
Positives 1. Burke Badenhop is improving...and through 5 innings, he was stellar! NASTY stuff tonight. He struggled in the 6th, but this is now his 2nd start, in which, he gives us a chance to win. The 1st being against the Dodgers (which he threw a QS...against the HOTTEST lineup in baseball...works both ways, no?) :mis2 Also, congratulations...it was the Hopper's 1st career win. :thumbup  2. Waechter and Pinto finish it out, with 3.1 scoreless innings. Waechter's ERA now at .71, and Pinto now at .76. Nice bullpen work! 3. Alfredo Amezaga and his 2 web gems...especially the 1st one, which was fantastic. 4. The response. After the Brewers scored 2 in the 6th, we come right back, and put up 3, in the bottom half, with 2 long balls. Responding, and looking much more mature than our team age would indicate. Negatives 1. Mike Jacobs got injured again! :banghead I predicted on the ESPN boards that if Jake stayed healthy this year, he would get from 25-30 HR's, at least. And he was on a good pace. I hope this injury isn't major.

Tee Ball Bunt Machine
Negatives 1. Mike Jacobs got injured again! :banghead I predicted on the ESPN boards that if Jake stayed healthy this year, he would get from 25-30 HR's, at least. And he was on a good pace. I hope this injury isn't major. They say its a tight quad muscle, so I'm guessing it won't be serious or keep him out of many (if any) games. I just think they (including Jacobs himself) are being extra cautious to keep him healthy, after all he's been through the last couple of years. And it's good for them to have Helms to put in whenever you want to protect Jake and not take any chances.
Y08Marlin
Early reports are that Jake's injury isn't too bad. Looks like his quad just tightened up a little. Link Edit: didn't see Tee Ball's post

LordMagnus
That and the fact that this organization will put you on the 60 day DL for a hang nail.
Admin
If Jacobs sees DL time, do you call up MacPherson and let Cantu see some time at first?
Bret Hart
Marlins Official Website written on, Dallas McPherson on 40-man rosters "as a Outfielder" since 2008 season begins. also, AAA roster is same thing.  WTH
BroncoBob27
That and the fact that this organization will put you on the 60 day DL for a hang nail. Would love to see where you get this little bit of info from. I had no idea this org was so bad and so committed to losing that they would put guys that aren't hurt bad onto the 60 day. Back up your superior knowledge with examples. The point is, he IS on the 40 man roster.
johnnyd381
I missed the game last night. What was the situation when Waechter came on in the 5th. I know there were 2 on and 2 out, but that's it. I also know he walked one. Did he come in and get one of his K's? As far as his .71 ERA goes, I still am on the it should be 0.00 bandwagon!!!! :notworthy
geemoney
If Jacobs sees DL time, do you call up MacPherson and let Cantu see some time at first? I was thinking McPherson would get called up, but Gonzalez/Helms would see most of the time at first base, and Dallas would back up the corner spots like Helms does now. Actually, with Andino up, he can back up third, and you still have two guys listed above who could play first. So if Jake did go on the DL down the line, they could call up any position, really.
fishtankseater
i was at the game seating right above the homeplate and i got everyone around us to start yelling horrible fat jokes when Prince Fielder came to bad late in the game ...did anyone hear it on tv? we got a bunch of people into it
