August 12, 200915 yr I have more confidence in Leo than Lindstrom. I think Leo's done pretty well "filling in" for Matt.
August 12, 200915 yr You're lucky I don't know where you live. Philly has really taken a toll on your attitude, Miller.
August 12, 200915 yr calm the f*** down. before tonite i believe nunez converted 9/9 save opportunities. pitchers can't be unhittable every time out
August 12, 200915 yr You're lucky I don't know where you live. Philly has really taken a toll on your attitude, Miller. And you are?
August 12, 200915 yr So many people are way too shortsighted to be baseball fans. One blown save and people hate the guy. It happens all the time.
August 12, 200915 yr Isn't this like his first blown save as a closer? Anyways, I still really wish he'd stop showing off after saves. Aside from that, I don't really mind.
August 12, 200915 yr Blowing saves is part of baseball. Obviously some convert more save opportunities than others, but you don't hear Boston or Minnesota fans calling for the heads of Papelbon and Nathan when they cough up a lead in the 9th. Lindstrom blew saves. Now Nunez has blown one. Put in someone else and eventually they will blow one. It can be frustrating, but it will always happen.
August 12, 200915 yr I thought he was 12/15 in save opp coming into this game, and now 12/16. Whatever the number is, He's not a good closer, he's okay, but he's the best we have. So just hope he does well.
August 12, 200915 yr these kind of threads are getting annoying. whenever someones makes a mistake or has a bad day at the plate one of these "i hate" or "release..." threads pops up. just ignore them and they'll slide down to the bottom of the boards.

You gotta remember a lot of those blown saves were when he came into the game with runners Lindstrom put on base, and he got the blown save when they scored. I believe on at least 2 occasions that happened.

So just hope he does well. No b/c that wouldn't be fair. A couple of those came in the 8th. So if we're going by that, the "holds" he got in the 8th should be counted as "saves," as well. Hooray, overrated statistics!

August 12, 200915 yr OMG HE BLEW HIS FIRST SAVE AS A CLOSER! BTW, He's now 12/14 in save ops, not 12/16. He has, in save ops, 1 BS (tonight) and 1 W. Those three BS before this on were in the 7th and 8th innings.

August 12, 200915 yr He does tend to be Kevin Gregg-esque. You know, makes the game too exciting before closing it. But he's the best we got atm.
August 12, 200915 yr OMG HE BLEW HIS FIRST SAVE AS A CLOSER! Geez, don't make such a big deal over it.

August 12, 200915 yr Dammit even Mariano Rivera blows a save once in awhile, who the hell you want as a closer?...Clark Kent?
August 12, 200915 yr Hate Threads like these. He blew his 1st save as a closer in 10 opportunities. This is baseball it happens and no body is perfect.
