Marlins Win! 5-1

W: Sanchez (1-1)

L: Paulino (0-2)

Great to avoid the sweep.

leo is starting to look like that lights out closer we've all been wishing for

+1

when he's on, his stuff is pretty dominant. mid 90's heater and a filthy change up.

I like what Chris Leroux is doing.

Yeah I wouldnt mind keeping him up when Sanches comes back.

I like what Chris Leroux is doing.

Yeah, it would be nice if he continues pitching that way. Leo's been really filthy this year, it's great to see.

I think Tim Wood is the odd man out, right now.

Wood had one bad outing. Dan Meyer has looked bad every outing. Having said that, I doubt Meyer is the man out.

This is pretty spot on. I doubt we'd go with only one LHP RP, especially when it's a guy who's actually better vs RHP (Pinto, ofc).

My opinion about this bullpen changes every night lol.

That probably means they are about average.

The players with options in our Bullpen: Leroux, Badenhop, and Wood.

Badenhop clearly isn't goign to be optioned, so it comes down to Wood and Leroux. And Leroux has outperformed Wood and has the higher upside.

Hensley might also have optioned but I doubt it, I never looked him up. But he's also currently our long relief guy so I doubt he goes.

Didn't catch the whole game, but a couple things caught my attention. The defensive replacement for the 8th. Didn't see that one coming (9th for sure), although I liked the idea of putting Pinto in to have the switch hitter turn around to his weaker side of the plate. Nice move by Fredi. And it is now common place to put someone in at 3B (Barden or Helms so far) and move Cantu to 1B for defensive reasons.

Anibal throws one in the dirt in front of Baker. Instead of dropping to his kness to block it, Baker stands up and the ball squirts through his legs, untouched and allowing the runner to advance. I half expect him to do that because he does it so often, but why did he turn and chew out Anibal for the play?

Anibal was very good, but I think the bullpen came up clutch. After replacing Anibal, they didn't give up a hit. Anibal gave up 9, but not giving any walks really helped to minimize the damage.

Tough choice but I went with the BP.

Nice Win! Anibal was nice... Gave up hits but nice. 9-7 not too shabby... Now lets get two of three @ the Rox! We are avoiding Ubaldo... We also have Ricky and Nate Dogg pitching so we have a legit shot to get two and finish 5-4...

A strange kind of outing from Anibal - gave up 9 hits, however they were all singles. No walks issued which is great, but only 1 strikeout. All in all, it is a large improvement on his previous starts, though there is definately room for considerable improvement (lower WHIP as I think it is 1.55 atm)

So now you've taken to more subtle things like phrasing to misrepresent Fredi's intentions and bash Gaby? You're hatred is getting pathetic. Even Tommy has said that it's more to get a superior defender in at 3rd base, while keeping Cantu's bat in the lineup, than anything else.

Is it just me or does every BroncoBob post regurgitate one out of the same two or three different themes? His anti-Gaby act has become more tiresome than has his constant reminders that he's a season ticket holder. He seems to think that we should bow down to him for this. Whether intentional or not, he's become a troll.

Pengy, we've known each other for an awful long time now so I feel comfortable in saying this to you knowing it won't set off WW3 but as much as I agree with you re: Bob and Gaby, and I was no groupie bowing at the pedestal of Gaby Sanchez, he's played well enough this season as short as it has been to at least give the guy more time to prove his worth and BB ought to stop with the constant shots at the guy and let things play out for a while.

On the otherhand I have no problem with Bob's comments regarding his season ticket status, he's frankly (as far as I'm concerned earned the right) when so few people here have made any kind of financial commitment to this team at all and are more than willing in spite of that to bash the franchise, the owner as a cheapskate, etc., or complain not enough games are on TV. But if you don't agree with me that's your right too just as it is his to voice his opinion. In that sense we could use alot more Bobs.

Where I have a problem with your remarks was calling Bob a "troll". A number of words come to mind that might be more fitting but for me "troll" is way over the top and unnecessary and frankly beneath you.

you left out where he ripped Baker because he's not good enough either.

Bronco's fine with me though. He's respectful for the most part, and look we have to have somebody to gang up on.

To be honest, I think Gaby's gotten better with his defense, as the year has progressed. As far as Baker is concerned, he's not a great defensive catcher by any means, but he makes up with it for his offense. Bob is old-school and believes the catcher should be more defensive-minded. It is what it is. We have one of the best hitting duo's in the league though, in terms of our catcher position.

If you haven't noticed, the vast majority of the posters here are of the high school or college age demographic. In other words, they are in no position to invest that sort of "financial commitment" to 81-game season tickets. Nor do they have the time that a person of retirement age has. How can you possibly fault them for this?

Based on some of the backlash Bob has been receiving here, I sense that I'm not the only person here who feels this way.

There's nothing wrong with having old school opinions, but it grows tiresome when he has to repeat this stuff incessantly.

Do we really need to see a snide remark every time Gaby leaves the game in the 8th/9th inning? It becomes more absurd when you figure that the move was made due to Cantu's bat and defense.

Yeah, I have no problem with any of this. Baker can certainly be frustrating behind the plate at times; that's why I only quoted part of his post.

Isn't hit by pitch considered a walk?
