Posted June 3, 201015 yr I am sure this has been discussed A LOT in other threads... but I am special so I thought I'd make one. I have been building Mr. Stanton up to my friends here in Iowa/Illinois quite a lot lately... so I hope he doesn't disappoint! 480 ft? Are you kidding me? Anyway I assume we will see: LF Coghlan 1B Gaby SS Hanley 3B Cantu 2B Uggla CF Ross RF Stanton C Ronny But I would love to see: LF Coghlan 2B Uggla SS Hanley RF Stanton 3B Cantu CF Ross C Ronny 1B Gaby
June 3, 201015 yr Author I am quite a big proponent of having a good OBP guy in the 8 spot to turn the lineup over... jmo
June 3, 201015 yr You can't throw a 20-year old into the cleanup spot of a Major League team, especially not right away. Let him prove himself in the six or seven spot, then gradually move him into 'better' spots in the lineup.
June 3, 201015 yr LF Coghlan 1B Sanchez SS Ramirez 3B Cantu 2B Uggla RF Stanton CF Ross C Paulino/Baker Cogs has hit better as of late and Gaby has performed better than I expected, his quiet numbers are a big help. Eventually I would think Stanton will move higher as the season progresses

June 3, 201015 yr Author I understand this.. just having fun. And who knows, maybe this kid comes in and starts blasting moon shots. Count me in as excited to see him. Would be nice if they would play a minor league game of his on versus like they do with Strasburg

But when he was first brought up, did he bat cleanup? (I am not disproving your point, I am legitimately asking the question.)
June 3, 201015 yr It might be helpful to know who's still on the team but that's just me. Everyone because we have two weeks of interleague very soon LF/DH coghlan 1B gaby SS hanley 3B Cantu 2B Uggla RF Cody LF/DH Stanton C paulino / CF Maybin CF Maybin / C Hayes
June 3, 201015 yr Is Stanton coming up? ...But He hasnt spent 3 seasons at least in Triple A and he is not 28 y/o yet

June 3, 201015 yr 1. Chris Coghlan LF 2. Cody Ross CF 3. Hanley Ramirez SS 4. Jorge Cantu 3B 5. Dan Uggla 2B 6. Mike Stanton RF 7. Gaby Sanchez 1B 8. Ronny Paulino C
June 3, 201015 yr I'm thinking this--- 1. Chris Coghlan LF/ Cameron Maybin CF 2. Gaby Sanchez 1B 3. Hanley Ramirez SS 4. Jorge Cantu 3B 5. Dan Uggla 2B 6. Cody Ross CF/LF 7. Mike Stanton RF 8. Ronny Paulino C All of a week until stantons 5th and Uggla is 6th.
June 3, 201015 yr Now that Coghlan is starting to hit well, and we don't have any holes in the lineup outside of Maybin , Stanton probably will, and SHOULD hit 8th when he comes up
June 4, 201015 yr He should hit 6th behind Coghlan, Gaby, Hanley, Cantu, Uggla then he'll be followed by Cody, Paulino. We could score a sh*t load of runs if he does well when called up.
June 4, 201015 yr Does anybody think he starts as soon as he comes up, or are they gonna ease him in with a couple of pich hit apperances?
June 4, 201015 yr Does anybody think he starts as soon as he comes up, or are they gonna ease him in with a couple of pich hit apperances? They're not calling him up to ride the pine, he starts right out the gates.

That would be my thinking as well, but he's still seen as a defensive liability, which leads me to believe were gonna see him come Tampa Bay series.
June 4, 201015 yr Stanton bats 7th. You need to ease him into the majors at first, and 7th makes sense 1. CC 2. Gaby 3. Hanley 4. Cantu 5. Uggla 6. Ross 7. Stanton 8. Baker/Paulino 9. Pitcher Seems like a logical lineup, with Stanton moving up to the 4 spot by seasons end if he does well from the get go. And anybody who seems to think Stanton is a defensive liability is just flat out wrong. He's going to come in and be an average or above average right fielder from the beginning.

I can tell you from watching him in person over a dozen times, he is not ready to play the glove at the Major League level and that's just all there is to that. Hopefully as he matures as a player that will correct itself. But don't take my word for it take the teams. "The 6-foot-5, 230-pound outfielder has 60 career Minor League home runs in 604 at-bats. Offensively, Stanton is ready. The team is questioning whether he is ready defensively. He has played right field a majority of the time at Jacksonville. Of late, he's seen some action in left field. "
June 4, 201015 yr LF Coghlan RF Stanton SS Ramirez 3B Cantu 2B Uggla CF Ross C Paulino 1B Sanchez If Stanton has a little trouble I would put him 7th, Gabby 2nd and move Paulino to 8
June 4, 201015 yr 1) Hanley 2) Stanton 3) Hanley 5) Stanton 6) Stanton 7) Stanton 8) Stanton 9) JJ Are you implying that Giancarlo can't pitch? Jerk.
