The thing I keep telling my coworkers who don't really watch many Marlins games up here.... some of his home runs.. . it doesn't even look like he's hitting the ball that hard. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. Forget who they were playing but there was a game a few weeks back where he had one of those swings where a guy reaches out over the edge of the plate to fight off an outside pitch, and is probably going to dump it into the opposite field off the end of his bat for a bloop single. Instead it just took off like a f*cking bullet over the fence. I don't even know if it was 20 feet off the ground, just shot out on a line.

Yeah, I think that's the one Hotcorner was talking about. That thing was amazing, I think HitTracker said it went a full 45 in the air at it's peak.

I think it was cincy where he had one that looked like he made shallow to mid popup contact on the ball ..... a little under it, not the best bat positioning and it just snuck over the top of the wall

 

it was impressive watching him out here in the AZ series - when he catches a ball flush that thing moves and when he makes a mistake it still moves pretty good

 

I wish he didn't have to be shut down during the AZ Fall League last year - i didn't get a chance to see him and that would of been fun

If Pujols continues at his current pace for the rest of his career (or at least the majority), he's definitely top 5, imo. He's incredible.

 

 

He's on pace for 600 easily and if he can maintain his 30 HR per season average til he's 38 he can hit 700 plus.

He's a ridiculously great hitter and just an all around great baseball player in general and if he keeps this up he's easily in the top 5.

I agree that you can take the top 10-15 pretty much out of a hat. For everyday players though, I think you you have to consider defense and base-running as well as the hitting line. Cobb and Speaker get a big upgrade over Pujols in that regard, at least in the base-running part. Of course, STANTON will top them all, as I expect him to speed up his home run trot into a dash...and wind up winning the 200 meters and 110 hurdles in the 2012 Olympics as an addendum to his MLB career. Maybe somebody can photoshop STANTON with some gold medals around his neck. .
