:whistle

Yeah J Hey.

If he wins the R.O.T.Y. I'm giving up on the voters forever.

To me 1st is a tight race between Jaime Garcia, Gaby and Starlin Castro with Posey, Colvin and Davis in the mix right behind them.

Seriously, who wouldn't be thrilled if they signed him to 8 year/$55 million tomorrow?

Why fool around.

Give him that plus 10%-20% of the franchise and sign him for life. And that's including concessions Loria. I'd buy more hot dogs if I knew he was making 20% of the profit.

That would work for me.

I've never seen a rookie like this.

I lol'd.

Not to be a buzzkill, but Braun and Pujols were better, plus Piazza and McGwire were pretty good, too. And A-Rod batted .358 with a 1.045 OPS in his first full year. He was also 20, so that's probably the most impressive.

I was just going to say this. Get it done. Heck, if we need to forget Dan Uggla, just forget it. Mike Stanton should be the priority; he needs to be here...forever. The kid is a phenom. Possibly one of the all-time greats when it's all said and done. It's amazing what he's doing, and more amazing how quickly he has improved.

I definitely agree with this. Mike Stanton looks like the complete package....a truly incredible player the likes of the Marlins fans have never seen before. A sheer dominant force. Granted, he's not yet the player he's going to develop into, but that's just plain ridiculous to even think about. If I thought about it, my mind would explode. Seriously, I don't think I've ever been so excited about a Marlins player before. So much power. So much athleticism. If he stays healthy, this guy is going to be a legend and could single handedly revive baseball in South Florida.

Anyone still think he needs another year in the minors? ....that he needs to play some triple A ball? He was too young to be called up?

Stanton may just have pulled into top 5 in contention for ROY

and moving up the charts fast!

It would be smart to give him a Longoria deal. Something like six years and then three option years.

6 years/$17.5M (2008-13), plus 2014-16 club options

That's Longo's Contract, I'd be absolutely thrilled to sign Giancarlo to a deal similar to that.

6/7 years/ 19 M with club options 2017-2020.

I'd buy his Jersey the hour they sign him.

Another thing I love about Giancarlo is that he doesn't get emotional on the field.

You rarely see him get mad or frustrated even when he was struggling and he cracks a smile every here and there which is good as he seems to be laid back, down to earth and won't be a problem in the locker room.

He hit two bombs in one night and didn't even crack a smile on either one, he seemed a bit more how should I say this, in disbelief that he didn't hit the ball harder or farther.

I LOVE HIM!

Stanton has officially surpassed Hanley as the franchise player. I too will be buying a Stanton jersey before anything else. I have to say Stanton is the most exciting rookie to ever wear a Marlins uniform, even moreso than Dontrelle and he is just getting better!

His comment last night was, "I can't count on these streaks."

I am in love

It will be interesting to see how Hanley handles being number two.

Work harder or sulk?

I don't think that in Hanley's mind he thinks he's number 2...

Miguel Cabrera?

I read some where that some of the guys on the team call him "The franchise" or "franchise." Can't remember which one.

Stanton has more power than any 20 year old I have ever seen in the six decades I have been an avid baseball fan.

Power to all fields.

The only one close was ARod, but he wasn't real close.

Giancarlo is the next great power hitter.

Mike is making every game we have left that much more fun to watch, even though the playoffs are barely a possibility. I get giddy every AB he has.
