Gaby is obviously Bradshaw/John Bradshaw Layfield.

Mike and Mike yesterday invoked Cowboy Bob Orton and his "bionic arm". :mischief

Let's not forget to give Chris Volstad his due. He answered the call of duty, and held his own admirably. He grew as a ballplayer in the eyes of many tonight – pitching aside.

Yeah, I agree...I also loved the way he just threw his glove down, got his feet set, and waited for Morgan.

I agree. I thought Gaby's was more of a blind side cheap shot. But Morgan had it coming to him for sure, so I have no real problem with him for the hit. The fines and suspensions should be interesting.

I didn't have a problem with Morgan stealing those bases either. It's the way he conducted himself. Taunting the crowd, etc.... The hit on Hayes the night before was fuel for the fire, even if it was a legal hit. But the one he threw on the Cards catcher was out of line and probably led to the team being ticked about this one. He deserved what he got.

Ok, now I've seen it all. Just having Gaby Sanchez compared to Cowboy Bob Orton is pretty cool... and here's the winner in that little tidbit...

Did You Know? Cowboy Bob Orton was voted the 1973 Rookie of the Year for pro wrestling!

The cycle is complete... Gaby for ROY 2010!!!

Does anyone know if any weight is put on suspensions when determining Rookie of the Year? I wonder if Gaby's suspension is a positive since people now know his name

I dont get how anyone can call what gaby did a cheap shot. Im not proud of it but in my past ive been in some brawls. If someone comes at your friend/teammate w/e you stop him. Period. You dont tap his shoulder and say,"we will now engage in battle! Put up ur dukes!" Seriously. This is real life not boxing.

You're right, it definitely wasnt a cheap shot. But Gaby himself has said, he wasn't actually trying to hit a straight up clothesline or to even hit him that hard. Gaby just ran over and you can actually see Volstad pulling Morgan into Gaby and thats what made the impact.

And Im pretty sure Volstad's bruise was made by Listach's helmet

Six: There is a pop fly to shallow right center. Murphy goes out to catch it and injures himself. Morgan sees Murphy is down and tags. So here is the problem, in two-fold: because Morgan was on third after stealing two bases, the defense had to be aware of the potential of a tag and that may have lead to Murphy overextending himself to trying for the ball. And, once again, Nyjer is (in)directly involved in a Marlins player getting injured and lost for the season. If Morgan had simply stayed at first or even second, that play would not have happened the same way.

That is exactly our thoughts here. We've lost a good player because of this.
