September 16, 201114 yr There is zero way he wins this, I think. It doesn't help that his case was "But it couldn't have been the fact that I was playing like sh*t, it had to be that I was acting like an ass!"
September 16, 201114 yr I still like LoMo & support him, but you just gotta think--Petersen is starting LF 2012.
September 16, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure if you guys all thought there was a way you could get an extra 20k, you'd probably do it.
September 16, 201114 yr Author I'm pretty sure if you guys all thought there was a way you could get an extra 20k, you'd probably do it. I think most people are smart enough to understand that it's not worth it to burn bridges over this when it probably won't go through.
September 16, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure if you guys all thought there was a way you could get an extra 20k, you'd probably do it. You've got that right. We'd all sell our bodies for that extra 5% in salary.
September 16, 201114 yr you guys, there is totally going to be some good news coming about this team someday! I'm almost certain of it!
September 16, 201114 yr One of the reporters on Twitter did say its 99.9% certain LoMo is still here next year despite the issues
September 16, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure if you guys all thought there was a way you could get an extra 20k, you'd probably do it. I think most people are smart enough to understand that it's not worth it to burn bridges over this when it probably won't go through. It's certain that the bridge will be burned? The Marlins don't seem to pissed off at Anibal. I think we need to look at this dispassionately; I'm no fan of Logan's, but I think he just wants to recoup, within the rules, what he considers lost income. And the Marlins will likely look at it that way also. I think people are making too big a deal about this both ways.
September 16, 201114 yr Has this been known prior to today? Asked about the team meet-and-greet, Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria told ESPN: ""He got bad advice -- period." He's talking about Wes Helms, right? And then Helms was gone soon too. So that must have really pissed off Loria, and he orderd Helms gone and LoMo demoted. At least it does show that Loria does care about (the few) season ticket holders he does have. We don't know what was said between the two of them, or how the conversation went. If he asked his union rep if he had to go to the meet and greet then Helms was right. It's not legally mandatory, from a union point of view. But this team looks unfavorably at "dissing" the few season ticket holders they have. No one in the past has gotten away with it. And being the exact same time frame he canceled the bowling thing, which was through the Community Foundation and not the Marlins, made it look even worse. He not only dissed the fans, he dissed the teams pet orginazation as well. I think LoMo is coming off as a "it's all about me" spoiled brat. But I do agree with bobbob in that filing the grievance is being given far more importance than it actually deserves. I can't see him winning it anyways. "I'm doing for all the other players." Yea, right.
September 16, 201114 yr He also canceled a fundraising event for charity on his own because he wasnt happy with presales and insulted the organization plannijg it. Hes a dbag. I really dont give a sh*t if he stays a marlin. You are saying he's a douchebag because the event was cancelled due to the fact that the Marlins did not actively advertise and market as much as they could have, an opportunity for casual fans to support a fantasic cause and go bowling with a major league player? To be honest I kind of have to agree with this. I watch all the games, and then listen to the radio replays the next day at MLB.com. And I never heard of the event until I heard that it was cancelled. That is the Marlins fault. As much as I watch & listen to Marlins programming I should have been aware of the event.
September 16, 201114 yr HE CANCELED THE EVENT HIMSELF BY REFUSING TO GO. It was a bowl with lomo event. There were sales. I know this because my company purchased a lane and I know a couple others who did as well. He canceled because he wasnt happy with that. He took money away from a charity because his rookie ego has exploded. It wasnt some bs meet and greet. He took money away from charity. Dbag move. Well that is a total d-bag move. :nono
September 16, 201114 yr you guys, there is totally going to be some good news coming about this team someday! I'm almost certain of it! Yeah, the season will be over soon :lol But seriously, I hope Loria doesn't make the opening of the new stadium embarrassing. If he pulls some d-bag sh*t cheap & tawdry gimmick with the opening, which leads to more national scorning of the Marlins, I will really be pissed off.
September 16, 201114 yr I met LoMo at a Meet & Greet and he was nice as could be. He loved interacting with the fans and he was one of the last ones to leave. And that's also the first time I even heard of the Bowling thing (which he told me about) and it was happening that week... So I don't think he's a DBag. Just that he's going through a lot (if you read the OTL article, people in his family are dropping like flies :/) and he's doing what he thinks is right. He plays hard and injured almost everyday and never takes this game for granted. I know I'm the minority here, but I love LoMo. Period.
September 16, 201114 yr I'll be glad when LoMo is gone. I am so damn tired of his mouthing off about everything all the time. He didn't learn anything at his "time out" in the minors. I am absolutely sure this won't be the last time his big mouth will make news. We don't need this constant re-appearing drama and side shows. He is a very good young player with lots of potential, under club control for a lot of years. Everyone knows this. Other clubs will be willing to give us significant value in return.
