For what it's worth, I was a pretty vocal supporter of him amid the allegations of being "lazy," "having a bad attitude," or "being a clubhouse cancer," but as I was arguing the other day, there's really no statistical reason to expect a sharp turnaround in his hitting soon. I think he might be able to pull it off somewhere else (like LA), but that's mostly me having blind faith on account of his past success and being open minded enough to think that a change of scenery would help.

 

It's really hard for me to project a >.850 bat out of him next season and he plays AWFUL defense. That's not worth close to what he's being paid.
