Whay happened to Boni. I missed it.

It's not the same thung he just got back from is it?

I think it is, yes.

Was it fielding or or on the base path?. If it was on the bases why the f*** was he not wearing a guard.

It was in the bottom of the 9th, diving for a ball. Fielding.

Well hell not much you can do about that.

This start proved Johnson TROLLED the scouts with his performance against SD. He pitched like sh*t on purpose to stay with team.

Johnson gonna pitch like Ace rest of season....your loss Texas...looks like Dempster sucks in AL. Boo YEAH.

LOL. Ep.5"Controversy in South" Beach

We should play a game and guess what the Franchise is going to talk about next. Stanton coming back from injury, I guess?

Bonifacio just getting injured and being out for the season? Ozzie still being pissed about coconut water?

Nice to see JJ get a win and put in an ace type preformance. Probably only the 2nd time this season he actually has. The other being the Braves game he had to come out of just recently.

As for Boni, this team just can't catch a f'n break. I'll be glad when the season is over and this trainwreck has finally stopped.

How bout Lil' Jose at 2B?

Talk about adding insult to injury.

The official scorer actually gave Boni an error on the "throw" for flipping the ball back toward the infield after he stopped that grounder with an all-out dive and came up in what had to be tremendous pain -- and tried his best to get the ball to Reyes.

The run would have scored had the ball gotten through or even just squirted a few feet away. No need for the scorer to be a jerk about it.

Hutton will probably be on this, he hates this sort of stuff.

No, that error is deserved. I don't much like it, either, but just because he "would have scored" had the ball got through to center doesn't mean anything in this case. Bonifacio stopped the ball, holding Harper at third. Once he flipped it and Reyes was unable to stop it from going past him, Harper then scored. Error all the way. Gotta go with the reality of it, not the "if this happened" scenario. Let's just hope it's not that serious of an injury, but if it is, shut him down.

On the bright side, he stole his 30th base.

didn't he injure his thumb the first time against the Nats too on his first CS? bad juju against this team i tell you

No, it was against Cleveland.

Well, let's see.

1) Boni makes effort, but doesn't dive, ball winds up in the outfield. Run scores. Morse credited with hit. No error.

2) Boni dives, ball hits glove and squirts away 5 or 10 feet. Run scores. Morse credited with hit. No error.

3) Boni dives, miraculously captures ball while re-injuring surgically-repaired thumb ligament, experiences serious pain and desperately tries to flip the ball back to someone who can actually do something with it. Run scores. Morse credited with hit. Error on "throw."

The scorer no doubt felt that he should probably assign an error to someone. In that case, perhaps he should have given it to Reyes, who was just standing there and made no effort to get the ball (probably because he was concerned by injury to Boni,) but he never touched it -- only JJ ran after it, but too late.

Anyone got Hutton's e-mail? I'd love to hear him rant about this BS "error."

To take the concept of an injured player "error" on a "throw" to the extreme, but not by much -

Stanton hits a 130 MPH line drive which strikes the pitcher in the head and then drops at his feet. The pitcher's last act before being taken off the field on a stretcher is to pick up and flip the ball towards home, where a runner from 2B is attempting to score. The flip dribbles toward the plate but doesn't make it.

Should that be scored as a "throwing" error?

Truthfully, though ... if it is, as you say, a "dribbler" to the plate and doesn't make it to the catcher, then maybe not so much. If a ball is hit to the shortstop and he throws a 15 hopper to first and the runner beats it out, he's got an infield single. Now if the throw went over the catcher's head and it wasn't certain that the runner from second was going to score, then yes, it's an error, regardless of if the pitcher has just passed away from that line drive to the cranium which crushed half of his skull in.

Then the next day, someone calls it a "fatal error" and everyone gets mad at him.

I cant imagine how horrible the lineups are really going to be.

Reyes and Buck will be the only starters that started the year... and ruggiano and petersen hurt... wow!

I would honestly just say f*** it and let Coghlan play 2nd.

Why not? I don't see why anyone would have anything against it. I mean what do we have to lose?
