November 14, 201213 yr i just cant believe it. its like the marlins want to prove all the naysayers right every year. "how can we make our fans miserable?"
November 14, 201213 yr I feel like a loser rooting for this organization. Some things they do are just impossible to defend... This trade is ridiculous. How did we trade Reyes, Johnson, Bonifacio and Buehrle and get sh*t in return... And we didn't even dump f***ing Ricky on them...
November 14, 201213 yr Can the MLB actually step in and do something? They took the Expos from Loria, didn't they? No, he sold the Expos to MLB and in the same transaction bought the Marlins from John Henry, who then bought the Red Sox. Anyway, with the new ballpark they really don't have any excuses... This is nuts. Oh, OK. Well, sell the Marlins to the MLB, Loria. Maybe we can get a competent owner to take over. The last thing we want is MLB running this franchise for any amount of time... They ran the Expos, then Nats, for many years while they basically weren't allowed to do anything.
November 14, 201213 yr Youd have to be insane to sign a long term deal here if youre Stanton or anyone. Why would anyone want to play for this organization that trades away everyone before their contract expires? Why put your family through this type of sh*t of getting up and moving around on the whims of some rat weasel art owner?
November 14, 201213 yr I really feel sick right now. There is no defending this move, regardless of the money saved here.
November 14, 201213 yr I really feel sick right now. There is no defending this move, regardless of the money saved here. i think this is the final straw. as long as loria is the owner were done. they just gave every skeptical fan a reason not to show up.

November 14, 201213 yr This pathetic excuse for a front office LIED to everyone. From city commissioners down to the fans. We were all misled and fed bullshit and lies. Build us a stadium and we will put a competitive team on the field. Are you kidding me with this? I am beyond words. As marlins fans, we all have to come together and show them that this is not ok. This is not a time for us to break apart, but to unite. Not behind the team, but as a family.

I probably would have been OK with the deal if all we got back was either Lawrie and Escobar or Hechevarria... But that's not the case.

November 14, 201213 yr so much for that 85 million dollar payroll. here comes another worthless rebuild because even that the marlins cant do right.

November 14, 201213 yr i've been a ridiculously loyal supporter since the day the franchise was awarded to S. Fla (no, not the showtime show) and I knew at midseason we'd be in trouble after the Hanley deal, even though I don't think our return was atrocious. This....but this....oh God this has to be worse numbers wise as a payroll dump than even after the 97 World series....what an utter depressing team this has to be going forward. I can't imagine Tommy Hutton's reaction to this.... Honestly, there are no words for this. There is NO way you get a return on that level of talent going elsewhere...no i'm not saying it was teh starting lineup for the all-star game but the players that went North were mostly solid players. Furthermore, showing utterly disloyality to any FA that would even have considered playing in Florida. WHO THE EFF WOULD WANT TO PLAY THERE??! Nobody. What a crock and a shame and Selig would detonate this deal if he had any sense. I really would hope the owners in general would do everything in their power to find a way to get Loria away from the team. I'd LOVE to see a real owner like Mark Cuban, who has expressed interest in the past about owning a MLB team, to run this team from the standpoint of a fan. With something like this, I'd be curious to see if Loria has some special clause built into the revenues the stadium generates if he sells the team or is forced out by MLB. It wouldn't shock me and if I were the other owners i'd be crying foul on this when it comes to revenue sharing....just disgusting...

I doubt Selig and company will decline it. I think he's insinuating it's not a done deal... maybe all the parts haven't been agreed upon considering it's very clear what we gave up but not so clear what we're getting back.
November 14, 201213 yr So Jeff Passan nailed it months ago. I hated how he always ripped on us but he was right. I hope he and all the media just shred Loria.
November 14, 201213 yr This is bad. I mean, I like some of the players that would come back, but please Buddha no. It's like Beinfest is trying to see how far he can go before be gets fired.
November 14, 201213 yr Author Samson's mini-show on Lebatard's show shall be fun. When is it I think Wednesday around 5 p.m on 790
November 14, 201213 yr Author MLB is going to seriously look at this deal and think about the long-term ramification of baseball in Miami
November 14, 201213 yr I'm done. Last straw. Guess I'll become a Braves fan? Closest team geographically anyway.
