June 11, 201313 yr Let him walk, roll the dice with arbitration and hopefully get a draft pick out of it. If they trade they got to look at a shortstop

June 12, 201313 yr I'd trade Ricky for Olt if the Rangers were interested in that. Bring Olt in as a 3B, wait two years and slide him over to 1B when Moran is ready. Olt's stock has fallen, the question is by how much. Ricky, a MR and one of our OF's (Ruggiano or Pierre) may bring old back in trade.
June 12, 201313 yr They wouldn't be interested in that. Ricky's gonna be a Yankee or Oriole or Giant.
June 12, 201313 yr With his struggles this season I don't think of him as a guy you'd want to plug into a big league lineup in 2014.

June 13, 201313 yr For Ricky? All day. If he can reclaim a portion of his prospect status it may be a win in trade. Not like Ricky is worth much. Besides, I think he can be a average ML 3b or 1B. He may not be the answer but he can be serviceable.

He may not be the answer but he can be serviceable. He doesn't even seem passable at 3B. The guy is a negative win type player -- the 3B version of Yuniesky Betancourt. With his current performance along with talks of vision problems, I wouldn't touch him.
June 13, 201313 yr What about a Moran for Aramas Ramirez swap? So you want to trade a possible long term 3B for a short term 3B, or even a possible 1 year rental. It would only make some sense to do such if the fish were in playoff hunt.

Moran needs at least 20 more pounds to be beefcake.
June 13, 201313 yr We'll probably just hold on to him and let him walk after the season. Or re-sign him for 8 years $180,000,000 cause he's a winner. It was 10/150 as you know. It's nice to see mods contributing but isn't there something in the moderator clause that calls for not making trolling comments, as a minimum qualifiication for the position. . Yet you continue with baiting about my thoughts regarding Stanton and a long-term deal. It is/was 10/150. In light of the recent DL maybe 8/120 is on the table. What's the point in thinking about other talent in the franchise or future acquisitions if the fans know a prospect of this level can not be signed to a long-term contract?
June 13, 201313 yr You mean your proposal for a Stanton contract? They should sign him to a 10 year/200M contract after this season. Just pray he accepts, and if it's a matter of more money...give it to him.
June 13, 201313 yr Olt's recent problems combined with Rangers prospects tending to struggle or fall short of expectations make me very skeptical about him. I always kind of considered his lofty prospect status slightly dubious anyway when you looked at the combination of age/types of leagues the Texas farm system is in(mostly hitters leagues).

Just pray he accepts, and if it's a matter of more money...give it to him. It's kinda' scary that you have that at your fingertips. As so...you know it's a comment taken out of context of my overall year long thought on the subject. I thought you already conceded that we should sign him...have you changed your mind or are you being your usual annoying self?

As so...you know it's a comment taken out of context of my overall year long thought on the subject. I thought you already conceded that we should sign him...have you changed your mind or are you being your usual annoying self? How exactly was it taken out of context? It seems like you were pretty sincere about the original 10/200 offer and when you were ridiculed for it, you lowered it to 10/150. That's probably why you are lying about the 10/200 part now. And, yes, absolutely the Marlins should sign Stanton. Why would I change my mind on that?
