fire dan Jennings

New mlb rule. Allow socially managed teams. A rep puts up a twitter poll and fans vote for the move to make. Puppet in dugout makes the move.

Marlins managed by marlinsbaseball.com

As a general rule of thumb, a competent manager in MLB will have a net zero affect on your team in terms of wins/losses.

A great manager can have a net 2-3 wins generally speaking.

A bad manager can have a net 2-3 losses generally speaking.

A Dan Jennings may result in a net 10 losses generally speaking.

this.

You got a link to support this?

There's no link to support that point Erick, and in that sense your own point is valid.

But, while it may be abstract and tough to measure, it's also not hard to imagine that a game like last nights could have been won by a manager who makes the right moves.

And thus, over the course of a season, it's not hard to imagine two things: that a manager who makes the better moves can win an extra handful of games and that a manager who makes the less than ideal moves can lose an extra handful of games.

While that's not easy to measure on paper, it's very logical to believe especially after watching a night like last nights.

But, over the course of a season, every manager makes dumb moves like that. And, even if for whatever reason, we say that Joe Maddon is the best manager, it's dumb to criticize Dan Jennings for not being Joe Maddon. This is like watching Adeiny Hechavarria play this year and being like "Hech is costing us wins! Troy Tulowitzki is better!"

In order to truly determine how bad a guy like Jennings is, he would have to be compared to a league average manager, which is yet another thing that we have no way of knowing. You can't look at possibly the worst game he's managed and now pretend like he's the worst manager ever. Just Marlins history alone, you can evaluate all of the managers in team history, both experienced and inexperienced, and pick a thing or two that sucked about them.

I can tell yall this much

Admin knows who their next top choice, subsequently, next manager is.

Hes holding out.

I do in fact know their top target but I can't say, sorry.  I didn't even want to bring it up because I don't want to seem like I'm saying "haha I know and you don't".  Wish I could tell you guys everything I hear but then I'd stop hearing stuff.

Maybe Cole Gillespie is our next manager. That's probably why Admin joined the bandwagon last night.

no because its called observation from watching this game for over 20 years.

Oh. Ok.

I can't say with certainty what the thinking was when Frisaro wrote that but I can tell you that at the start of July, it was pretty much decided that DJ won't manage again next season barring something weird.

Sooo, managing the 2016 Marlins, Mike Hill.  :p

besides you cant fucking prove everything in this damn game based on some type of analytical program.

Saw the movie too.

Book is much better.

Billy Beane is overrated and should have fired himself after last year btw.

If he didnt have an ownership stake, he would have been fired years ago.  Truth.

How far does the team have to fall for Jennings to not even get a chance to finish the season? Or are they gonna just ride out the shit storm till the end?
