If we did sign Edwin it isn't to platoon with Bour. You don't spend 80 million for a platoon player. 

 

 

I don't want Edwin Encarnacion - if you go look at his splits he's really not a massive upgrade on a day to day basis over what Bour did last season.   He was also significantly more productive in hitters haven Toronto as well and with the downgrade in defense, his age, and much larger price tag and....pass.  Just roll the dice with another cheap platoon player for Bour.  Chris Johnson was a good signing at the time with an avg of over .350 the previous 3 years against lefties - it just didn't pan out but at least we aren't saddled with some stupid contract for an already financially challenged team.  I would have liked to have signed Nova however - find that platoon partner for Bour or hell, roll him out there and see what he can do over the course of a season vs. lefties.  He showed the ability to adjust to the shift that teams constantly put on him last year so maybe this will be another year of growth for him (not a fat joke).  We ain't making the playoffs this year with E.E. so why not see where we're really at and restock next offseason?
