July 20, 20179 yr Looking through the stats & reviews, Lopez is pretty interesting actually. Will be a good trade to revisit down the road. Doesn't do much for the short term, but the top 3 guys immediately slot into our top 15 prospects so I'm down with it.

July 20, 20179 yr Not that it matters, but this team has no future closer waiting in the wings once Ramos is traded. a closer is just a guy you promote from middle relief - if they can trade him I'll be utterly thrilled to see his constant tightrope act gone. It was a rare day indeed when he'd have a 1-2-3 inning. I think Phelps was far better than Ramos ever was (and I'll bet other GMs will recognize that in terms of trade offers, if any) and honestly wished he had been given the gig. I'm assuming they'll throw Claw in there as closer if some sucker takes a flyer on Ramos. Hell, try something off-the-wall like using TK as a closer if he's still around post-deadline. See if he can get better results from going max effort knowing he just has the one inning. He clearly sucks as a starter so why not try him in a new role?
July 20, 20179 yr Not a bad haul, one prospect and a couple of suspects, sad to see it will probably move Justin Twine down the Marlins prospect list, good thing him and his .185 BA have been promoted to Jupiter
July 20, 20179 yr I am going to miss Phelps. He was very solid. i would look to get rid of Koehler, Ziegler, Tazawa, Volquez, and maybe Prado. That would save a good chunk of money.
July 20, 20179 yr I picked up the jersey Phelps wore for Father's Day 2016 from MLB.com's auctions last year. Sad to see he's no longer on the team. He's literally been the most consistent player on the team since he came over from the Yankees. I know it had to happen though as long-term he wouldn't fit into the plans since it's not like the fish will be WS contenders next season either.
