Big confidence in Sixto to give him the game vs Darvish

I’d go Pablo if we lose game 1.

100% valid criticism, along with the lack of color at a distance, and the illegibility of the black jersey.

Yup, absolutely this too.  In the right lighting the outline effect does pop, but that's like 1% of the time.

Yeah I'd guess that they trust Pablo more in game 3 since it would be a must win but that's also assuming we win game 1. If we lose game 1 would they move Pablo up to game 2?

If we win game 1 then Sixto game 2 is a bold move though.

Legit question - Are they allowed to switch starters around like that once they announce them in the postseason?

Yea it's just like during the season. It can be changed. They basically only make an announcement for media coverage but it's not something they can't change.

I started working from home before 2020 hit but man, I resisted so long (mostly because I'm an introvert and without office interactions I seldom spend time with anyone other than my wife) but now?  I couldn't imagine having to go into an office every day.  I LOVE working from home.

You?

every word of this, same here.   i even liked being home with my kids for a while while they had to do part of school online.  i'll be fine when we go back eventually but my company is not in any particular rush so i'm enjoying it.

I would love to see Rogers, first out of the bullpen vs LHB against the Cubs. Dont really trust Bleier or Tarpley.

He has the makeup, just needs to throw strikes.

Game 3 (if necessary) could change based on results in other series

Hopefully it won’t come to that.

What a disgrace

I expect it for us but I’m kinda surprised they did it considering our opponent is the Cubs.

They know we are going to win so it's compromising.

The 12 and 2pm times are ridiculous no matter which teams are playing. These are still playoff games, they should be set up for the best possible exposure no matter what. I'm putting this one on Manfred yet again, there's no way he should be allowing this.

It's my understanding this is a Wrigley Field issue. They play a disproportionate number of day games because their stadium is located in a neighborhood. Traffic at night becomes untenable if there is a night game.

WHYYYYYY SANDY!!!!!!

Pablo has been the ace all year. He is a top 20 (Baseball Prospectus has him top 6) pitcher in the league. WTF!!!!! Pablo is great against not the Braves or the Rays. The Cubs lineup is the worst lineup the Marlins pitching staff will face all year, use your best pitcher first.

Also, Trevor Rogers NEEDS to be the bridge to yimi and I guess Kintzler? I guess? ugh. I wish Mattingly believes in stats. So dumb.

The problem is probably that they're trying to fit into a normal postseason timeline and we're already "behind" that, considering the entire wild card round is 3 games?

Which honestly the argument is weather usually right?  (Too cold in northern cities for baseball later in the year)  With them doing the bubble format in San Diego and Arlington, that factor doesn't matter, so there really should be no reason for them to not be able to extend the timeline, outside of "tradition."

Why would there be traffic if there are no fans at the game?

The playoffs were really different from the regular season, just see what happened to Bieber, by the way, Sixto's last two starts should be a concern ? or is it just be the result of lack of adjustment ?

Here is a couple benefits if we win game 1 and Sixto starts game 2.

1) Pablo would most likely be the game 1 starter vs Atlanta or Cardinals, if we sweep the Cubs.

2) If we lose game 2 against the Cubs, that would favor us as Pablo could close it out in game 3 instead of Sixto.

Why are people talking about Sixto like he’s a scrub?

He struggled his last couple of starts. He was dominant before that.

You know, it may have been said, but as great as making the playoffs is, it’s really a damn shame that it comes at a time when fans can’t experience it. I would like to see how attendance would have been. Would they come out?

Oddly enough that may be the reason the games are starting at 2, actually. Cubs were the last team to install lights at their home ballpark, so this may be more of a "tradition" thing in a weird way.

Sandy earned it on Friday and his confidence is so high right now. My man called out one of the best hitting teams and baseball, said "try and hit me," and then for the most part ran em down.

You know what's awesome, though? Sandy, Pablo, or Sixto, there's not really a wrong answer. 😁

I think it's amusing how many articles the last few days have said things like "Derek Jeter has somehow, shockingly, out of nowhere, turned the Marlins into a contender"... ummm, why the surprise though? Yes they've overachieved and yes it came quicker than anyone really expected but it's not like Jeter and his team haven't been telling everyone for three years that this was the plan. This isn't a true surprise.

It's just awful how for three years Jeter said "this is what we're doing" and every article said "Jeter doesn't know what he's doing" and now the articles say "Jeter did it and we have no idea how."
