I could be wrong but I wanna argue that this isn't necessarily a screw the Marlins move. The way the game times are scattered like six teams were gonna get screwed regardless. Besides we're playing the Cubs in Wrigley so even against the Marlins you would think they would have put the Cubs later if possible.

A down year for the Cubs offense combined with our potentially dominant rotation means we have more of a chance than anyone wants to admit. This should be a great matchup but I'm not cool with anyone who insists the Marlins don't have a chance to win. That shows me pure ignorance.

I read somewhere in an article that they chose the Cubs to win in 3. We'll see about that!!

Man you'd be surprised what an unpopular opinion this is. Even with the rebrand a lot of people still are, to put it nicely, "bothered" by our uniforms... namely how illegible the black uniform can be, the lack of visible color use, and the heavy emphasis on black across the board. Generally I do agree with those things and that they could be tweaked but there sure are some people with a pure hatred for our uniforms.

Though I appreciate the recognition and do love our new uniforms, there is no way we have nicer uniforms than the A’s.  Those are so clean and so classic.

From what I'm seeing on various sites, he's a bit of a hitter's umpire. So many expect a slightly smaller zone.

Yeah, I'm one of those who still loathe this new rebrand.  I just don't like the colors or the design so it's hard to get onboard from my stand point. I still own some stuff with the new scheme as a show of support but man, i really, really just can't stand it.

I don't mind them, but what I do mind is the emphasis on black - I get the whole nightlife vibe, and if you want a black alternate, sure, but why no blue alternate (limiting it to just ST and BP)?

 

Inter Miami did the same thing - they have a unique color to the league - pink - and relegated it to tiny accents, while focusing on black and white.  I'd have given them pink tops.

100% valid criticism, along with the lack of color at a distance, and the illegibility of the black jersey.

Just bullshit, we have only one in the Sixto and ranked 41th !? just bullshit. 

Of the 3 common complaints about the uniforms the one that bugs me the most is the lack of noticable color unless up close.

The best color details on the Marlins uniforms have to be seen by almost standing directly in front of them. But a uniform is so often seen at a distance or in motion, which means the smaller details aren't noticeable. When I look at the Marlins like that it almost always just looks like their colors are black and white and nothing else. The Rockies have a similar issue where you can't tell there's purple on their home uniforms. 

To fix this the Marlins just need a hint more blue... at the very least make the numbers on the back blue but if they really want to nail this they'll make the wordmarks blue. This would also go back to the 95-02 uniforms which were mostly black and white but had that beautiful teal wordmark on the front to prominently display that unique color. 

 

I can live with the illegible black jersey and the heavy use of black if they just made the wordmarks blue.
