Is Wallach game calling/defense really worth more than Alfaro offense?

Given how much better the pitching staff has pitched with Wallach, and how many whiffs at ball 4, 8 feet out of the zone Alfaro does, yes.

Normally I'd say no or at the very least it's a wash but lately Wallach has been hitting the bat decently as well so right now it's probably the best move.

This was actually very interesting. I wonder if Chad calls more first-pitch changeups to combat the early swings.

This. He can also call more sinkers early to get weak contact and create quick innings.

It’s going to be interesting to see the game plan on using the sinker vs the 4 seamer up in the zone.

Wallach's offense has actually been better this season anyways. Obviously both in small samples. But ... ya know.
