Yes.

Keeps saying that Schwarber is the only concrete target he has heard of. Says he doesn't believe the Marlins will get him but the Marlins seem to think they have a chance.

The fact that the Marlins acknowledge they need more moves can't be overstated.

Says he thinks Jackson will win the backup C job.

Honestly, I'd have rather kept Alfaro lol.

Would be shocked if Monte played another game for the Marlins, says Mish. The fight with Marte ended it for the organization.

Mish is "almost positive" they'll make another trade.

Also mentions that his perception is that any prospect not "on the doorstep" is fair game for trades. So they may retain some of the near-ready guys

Mish doesn't think that they will pick anyone in the rule 5 draft. Suspects that Conine will stay but Brigman will get taken.

So no Meyer being traded... for those thinking he'll be a trade-piece in a big CF trade.

So can there still be a trade or signing completed before the lockout tomorrow at midnight? I thought I read it was today due to physicals being done on signings.

I'm not sure - it sounded like theoretically deals could be done up until 11:59.  but don't know how that works with physicals.

If Schwarber is on the team he has to be a DH. I watched him “play 1st” with the Sox and it was an absolute nightmare. He tried under-handing a ball to Nate Eovaldi at first and he threw it 30 feet in the air. Regardless, I have no faith the Marlins get him over the Red Sox.

Schwarber is a passable LF in this day and age, but you need a quality CF to help cover some of his range issues.

 

I assume he could learn 1b decently enough with a spring to work at it, not just thrown in the possible hastily in the middle of the year because you stupidly acquire him with no place to play him. 

 

Schwarber doesn't fit but I think they know they haven't gotten THE big difference maker of a bat and they might be desperate to do so.

Garcia. He is a terrific outfielder and a solid hitter whereas Schwarber is a really good hitter but a terrible outfielder.
