I imagine once the power comes back on, it's going to produce some major, major heat right at the beginning as it readjusts to being used, and then after that should function as normal.

Or it may blow up

No Sandy …surprised with Olney ? Just hope Sandy saw this and got inspired.

Ya know, I think I was ok with him not exactly being top 10, but to be excluded from the "best of the rest" ...

Max Fried was in the top 10, B***r who didn't even pitch most of 2021 was in the honorables, what the hell, Buster? Adam Wainwright, too ... come on.

There is a MLB franchise in Miami?

Bob Nightengale of USA Today sheds some light on the upcoming proposal. The league is not expected to address the service time structure during this session. MLB is expected to put forth an increase in the league minimum salary to $600K, with further hikes to a height of $700K by the end of a potential CBA term, as well as alterations to draft pick compensation/forfeiture for signing free agents tagged with a qualifying offer.

so they are offering well, nothing.

All stuff that has been part of EVERY CBA contract basically.

Owners really going out on a limb on this one!

And the alterations to draft pick compensation, oh thrilling.

At least it's some sort of talking/proposal instead of just plain nothing/no talking.  I'd rather have them start checking boxes/crossing things off the list even if it is "every CBA" topics than everyone sitting home with earplugs in.

Also the PA hates the draft pick limitations for certain FAs, so they should be happy about changes there.

We get it, you're fully anti league/owners, but at least it's something.

this is like taking things from a 10 on the extreme level to MAYBE 9.25.

The share of revenue in MLB is the highest of the Big 3 in America AND GROWING.

So many owners claiming poverty when values continue to sky rocket and media rights deals increase in value

The draft pick compensation thing at this point really only affects 20 or so players a year, so ya, its kinda a so what issue.

The raising of the min salary was a no shit topic also, big f'n deal.   If that was the only sticking point it would have been ironed out months ago.

Details of this afternoon’s meeting remain unclear, but both Passan and Nightengale (Twitter links) characterize the union’s response to the league’s proposal as unfavorable. It’s not yet known when the sides will meet again, which Passan suggests is dependent on how quickly the union makes a counterproposal. Passan ominously adds that an on-time start to Spring Training “is in peril.”
