from that video alone he has a LONG ways to go to be an effective Major League starter again.

i've said it before....i think he ultimately ends up either traded or a pen arm.  i have maybe 10% confidence he can stay healthy enough to be a frontline starter and log all those innings.

I'd like him as a bullpen arm long term.

One more shot in the rotation, if he sticks, great, if not, to the setup role.

I know he's now a Boras client, and that we're not likely to give him a long term 300M+ contract he's seeking, but what do y'all think about a short-term deal (with opt outs he'll want) for Correa if he doesn't find a long term deal to his liking?

Lol, I think you mean Sixto (because it's a post after those Sixto posts ) before I read the name of Correa.

Actually, yes! Give Sixto a 10 year deal right now*. He'll never be cheaper and if he happens to pan out eventually, cha-ching, bay-beeee!

So something like the deal JD Martinez got a few years ago with Boston? 5 years with opt out after 2 or 3, I believe it was?

If Sixto pitched like Sabathia or Colon, nobody would care how fat he is.

Sure.

Also if Correa is going to take a short term deal, its probably to head back to Houston.

Only way Correa signs with Miami is with a 10 year like (maybe more) guaranteed deal, though might have an opt out or two in it, along with a no trade clause.

I just don't care what they want and who would win or lose in the fighting for the new CBA, because the owners would still be the billionaires and the players would still be the millionaires no matter what happens. Just returning the baseball for the fans ASAP !!!

14 team playoff sounds terrible. One perk of having a season with 162 games is that you REALLY know who the best teams are by the end. Extending to 14 cheapens the regular season and puts more weight on 1 or 3 games playoffs rather than a 162 game sample size. Yuck.

Yeah 162 games makes no sense when they're largely pointless

I used to be pretty strict about wanting 162 games but quite frankly I’m tired of it. I’d rather have 140 games or whatever and fine with expanding playoffs as long as it’s 7 game series. Your still going to get the best of the league and if you can’t get it done in 7 you have no place being there in the first place.

Would have to drop back to eight or expand to 16 for that, no way they're letting a team sit for almost two weeks.

Wild Card best of 3 would be fine, if they expand to 12 or keep at 10.

 

What would happen for the next decade ?
