The Fire Kim Ng Thread

Yes but some were on purpose, tanking. This year was an attempt at trying and its been worst case scenario almost across the board. It's not usually this bad for a team trying. Just a bad vibe all around now.

With the Marlins, trying is just as shitty as tanking.

that's because it was a half-assed attempt at "trying"(and half-assed is generous)

I'm lucky not be the GM of this shitty organization.

I'd gladly take the job and collect that kind of salary.  Would literally do no worse than she has.  I feel 100% confident in that regard.

After today's game, even if we disregard all the trades, free agent signings, IL mistakes, and roster construction errors, there's one simple thing that should be enough to justify Kim Ng being fired:

Don Mattingly is still managing this baseball team.

I'm getting 2012 vibes in the sense of just having a team that everyone thought would be better but it just won't click, won't work, nothing goes right, snake bitten, all of that negativity that's almost inexplicable. I know we are all upset and we have our reasons but nobody thought it would be this bad. It's like a worst case scenario all around.

I remember after blowing up the 2012 team Loria said something like he knew two weeks into the season that it wasn't gonna work because it was just a bad mix, that's what I get here.

I’d at least try a different manager.  What’s going to happen, we’d be worse?  Lol

Avisail is bad

Stallings is bad

Soler is bad

De La Cruz is bad

Luke Williams is bad

Dylan Floro is bad

Richard Bleier is bad

Cole Sulser is bad

Tanner Scott is bad

Anthony Bass…is not a closer which was the original intention, but maybe he can net us a prospect who will be bad like De La Cruz some day.

Am I missing somebody of the new players she’s brought in to the organization?

Oh, almost forgot. Alex Jackson was awful, and Payton Henry (who originally made the team over Fortes this year) had a solid .143 slugging % before finally being demoted.

I guess the only decent player left is Joey Wendle who’s gotten hurt like 4x this year already…and we don’t even know how good Kameron Misner will be so that might end up being a bad trade too.

She’s been awful and she’s never leaving because imagine firing a woman in 2022.

This was a Hill signing/trade. He came over during the COVIDing.

That said, holy moly that list so far.

True. I included him because she’s gotten credit for the Sandy Alcantara contract extension so she should get the same blame for giving Bleier a 2-year contract extension. He’s been awful this year.

Yeah but she extended him

Fair ... I think those would have still been under the club control years though? Maybe.

Either way. Pretty bad!

I think it’s hilarious that she’s brought in so many relievers and hasn’t even lucked into just one of them being reliable in high leverage situations.

Bass has actually been good in leverage situations this year, but we all know he is perfectly capable of blowing games (-1.6 WPA last year lol). Guy is basically Mariano Rivera in the 7th inning and the worst reliever ever any inning after that.

I forgot Louis Head. He sucks too.

Kim has shown a tremendous ability, acquiring all of the bad relievers on the Rays and Orioles.

The Orioles probably laugh at her considering they now have one of the best bullpens in baseball thanks to her not acquiring any of the good ones.

Walltimore helps.

Are ....... are we a playoff team with Michael Hill?

I’m going to go with no considering he had some of the same issues in free agency and putting a good bullpen/bench together.

But to Hill’s credit, his years at least played a part into bringing in some impactful players to the organization. Hopefully Kim can do that some day.

Also, Loria apparently controlled a lot of the free agent signings at the time so maybe it wasn’t even Hill who signed Wei-Yin Chen.

Everyone basically says that Kim Ng is the one making all the moves now, and it’s definitely not going well.

Which is hilarious too because they're the same moves as last year ... lol.

Hill also had worse luck considering that the best player he ever drafted was a generational player who passed away.

Bringing this up since all Kim Ng does is talk about how unlucky the current team has it.

Just as I type this post, Tommy Nance is coming in. Another unreliable, mediocre reliever Kim Ng brought in to the organization. Yay Kim.

A very bad outing from Tom Nance today.

Maybe the 178th reliever Kim brings in to the organization will be the one. Maybe it’ll be JIMMY YACABONIS! That sounds like a fun name.

I am still waiting for someone to provide a list of the positive moves she has made. Every time I ask, I'm either met with silence or some kind of debate breaks out about sexism.

I am struggling to think of good moves.

had he not gotten injured - you didn't like the Marte for Lizard trade?

- in hindsight we already know they weren't re-signing Marte now so he had to be traded for someone.

(you now i'm 100% on the fire her bandwagon so it's not like i'm trying to make excuses here.  I think we'd have 2 MAYBE 3 more wins at this juncture had he stayed healthy and continued pitching like we saw for (most of) his games early on)
