Well, yes, there's that.  LOL He went thorough a horrendous month of May.  He's been better in June though.  Let's not forget that he's young and raw.   Let's see how he finishes the year.  Hopefully can turn into one of our core pieces for a long time .  Also, he hit a 500 HR, so there's that! LOL

That's true, I don't think that baseball has landed yet. He does seem to be making some adjustments in June, but all of May it was basically "throw a high fastball and you are guaranteed to get him out". The April tape caught up to him real quick.

Laureano - .681 OPS

Reynolds - .761 OPS

We'd probably have some of you on suicide watch right now if we'd traded half of the farm for Mullins or Laureano. I realize Laureano is a smaller sample size, but still...

Reynolds is having good season, but the fact that he's probably not a CF'er long term, and that we have Bleday and Encarnacion almost ready to come up, makes me feel like he wasn't worth that high asking price.  Also, .761 OPS is good, but it's not great.  Is that really worth what they were asking for? 

My guess is that they will all still be available later and at a much more reasonable cost. I think the fact she stood her ground and didn't cave in was a good move.

Also, she or they were right about Sanchez being able to handle CF, and it helped save the farm so to speak.  That's a good move in my eyes.  I'd probably combine all of this as one move, though.  Again, I realize this won't be a popular opinion, but I'm giving her credit for it. 

I only ever wanted Reynolds and I have zero confidence in either Jerar or Bleday (especially Bleday) so just saying we have those guys coming up does nothing for me. Reynolds getting up to almost .800ops actually means he's hot right now and he also has a career track record of being steady and productive so again, I'd trade the farm for him and not bat an eye.

Trading Cantrelle for Luke Williams.  Even if Williams never plays again his MLB contribution will be infinite times that of a guy who can't hit .200 in A-Ball.  Infinite return on that one since the only way Cantrelle will ever see a game in the show is if he buys a ticket.

We're going have to agree to disagree my friend.  Reynolds is not worth gambling the farm on.  All things being equal, I still prefer Laureano because of his A + defense and he can stick I'm CF long term. 

Also, Bleday isn't hitting for average, but he's hitting for power and he walks alot.  He also plays plus defense.  He will be just fine. Not sure about Encarnacuin long term but he definitely broken out this season. I'm excited to see what he can do.

Top 3 CF over the last few seasons versus waiting (AGAIN) on some prospects who havent done much in the minors overall. Hmmm..real tough decision here!

Yeah, but it's not that simple.  I'm not advocating Bleday over Reynolds. Would I trade Bleday straight up for Reynolds? Yes,  I wouldn't have a problem with that.  Would I also throw in 2, 3 or more prospects for him? Absolutely not. 

So, I'm gambling that Bleday can fulfill his potential since I already have him in house,  than to gamble the farm on Reynolds continuing to do what he's done.  Especially as a CFer. I'm just risk averse when it comes to our farm system.
