Really not concerned about not hearing any Marlins rumors though just cuz nobody cares about us and our biggest whistle blower has vowed not to do that anymore so if Kim is working on anything I don't expect to hear about it anyways. I'm just saying being quiet on the Marlins doesn't mean anything to me.

As someone who lived most of his life in Miami, I can almost guarantee that giveaway promotion would bring out more people to the ballpark than any new player they would sign.

He's probably a 3B, but if he can be the " # 2 SS " sort of how Sanchez and Bleday should be the " # 2 CF " I think that is more than adequate here.

Gonna be interested to see what they do. They can trade out $16m in payroll next year with Cooper, Berti, Rojas, and Anderson, and do this, with Nunez a defensive option behind them likely.

Not sure where the $16m goes to the active roster, but if they get 4-6 prospects for those guys and that $16m is spent wisely, presumably on a longterm SS, this is interesting.

The more I think about it the more I like this deal.

Marlins dont really have a viable 3b alternative anywhere in the upper minors.  Groshans is probably better suited to 3b than ss, but he can probably play some ss but you dont want him there everyday probably.

Then again this team doesnt value defense really so I guess they can do that as well.

This allows for additional flexibility in 2023 and going forward.

For the price they paid, its a great trade for Kim.

This is the incompetence that I always point to. Contrary to the narrative, Kim Ng and this front office know what they "should" be doing but they have a tough time getting it done, aka incompetence.
