Yea jokes aside, Kim Ng is just such a passive GM and it's gonna hurt us for years. This franchise needs more fire from the position. This is not good.

she's actually done fairly well (or seemingly so) on the trades she has actually completed but she's just so incredibly slow to react to anything it's infuriating.  Games are played nearly every day.  You have to be proactive instead of reactive as a GM - and she's not even really reactive because she'll usually do nothing at all for days or even weeks at a time when someone is injured for instance and the roster is short.

Wonder what the rest of the front office thinks of her passive way? There's gotta be other Marlins executives clenching their teeth right now.

I would love for the Marlins 2023 rotation to be Sandy, Pablo and Eury..

Problem is that if they don't get good hitters to complement them, then it's a bunch of wasted talent and starts.

Ugh, so frustrating to be a Marlins fan.

I'm still waiting for the Marlins to get back to .500 this season before I sign up for MLB.tv again. Although at this point I'm considering not even signing up again, even if they do get back to .500.

and now I have no faith they’re going to make the big trade to make that happen either.

Looks like our hopes for next year are if Garcia and Soler pull a Bass a play good next year, the rookies progress, and the key guys stay healthy (Jazz, Cooper, Pablo etc.). Not like that's a lot of ifs or anything...

No point in trading Pablo Lopez just to trade Pablo Lopez tbh.

 

Now not trading the other excess you have like a Cooper/Aguilar (probably no taker so I get that)/ Rojas/ et al those are different stories.

Yea hate to say this already but they didn't add to the 2023 team at this deadline and they've already shown that they can't get things done in the offseason either so I wouldn't blame anyone for giving up on 2023 already right now. The track record has been horrible. Save yourself the time and give up now.

Cuz it's bad luck brought on by poor decisions. 

Kim Ng didn't have to trade Pablo Lopez today but her job was to make this team better for 2023 today than it was yesterday. She did not do that. Failure.

I have yet to see what value Ng brings as a GM at all.

One more thought and I'm done for today:

I'd bet that Kim considers this a successful deadline because she didn't deal Pablo. As if her one job today was making sure she kept him. It's like if she didn't even realize there were other trades to be made. She probably counted down the last ten seconds until 6pm and then high fived everyone around her like if she was at a New Years party. 

She's gonna have a press conference any minute now saying she is so happy to have kept Pablo, she still believes in the team she built, and that the real acquisitions/upgrades will be the players who will be returning from injury within the next few weeks. 

Seriously zero reason to watch the rest of the season. Didn't even add anything today to make the rest of 2022 interesting looking towards '23.
