It's a sensitive subject.  Sometimes people are guilty and the cops screwed up with the chain of custody on a key piece of evidence and that's why they get off or charges get dropped.  Other times, certain cases paint the accused as a pariah because that's what "sells" in the media - sometimes it's the opposite too.  There's so much that goes into proving a case and also so much that simply we NEVER hear about for one reason or another.  You'll see documentaries on serial killer cases (BTK for instance) where certain things are held back for decades in case a suspect is found.  You're free to judge with your own eyes and ears but a lot of what we feel is knee-jerk or carefully crafted by sources like media, etc to see what gets the most eyeballs and ears and it can be REALLY DIFFICULT to break free of our first impression - hence why people always say first impressions count.

i know this is tongue-in-cheek but honestly, it would probably get more people to the park in the long run (assuming the Marlins still bring in a + bat) because the Marlins would likely be winning a lot more games with Sandy and Bauer at the top of the rotation.  The Marlins have a negligible amount of people that show up now. There's really very little risk overall and it would likely have the opposite effect many think it would have. Just an honest opinion of how it would play out.

If I were Kim, I'd sign him and make him give a public apology. Fake his remorse if he has to, and donate part of his salary to underprivileged minorities, women, handicap people, whatever.

In terms of baseball production they'd likely get a much better value from Bauer than spending 10-12mil on Cueto.
