I wonder if he flat out beat Espada or is Espada really gonna get the White Sox gig?

Sounds like he flat out beat everyone.

If Espada ends up not hired again, it is confirmed that he SUCKS at interviews.

This could actually be true!

This turned me on

He argued more as a coach than Don ever did as manager.  I like it already.

So Espada wasn't strongly considered? Or maybe that leak about the White Sox hiring him was accurate.

Can't wait to find out. And actually Espada might be a better fit for the White Sox than for us anyways. I think Espada would have good here but I'm saying when u compare White Sox to Marlins as far as expectations, Espada there and Skip here seems right.

Damn did the Marlins actually make the right move for once?

Ahhh who am I kidding... anyone want the honor of starting the "Fire Skip Schumaker" thread?

I would but I want to see when it is organically started

I'm gonna say in the 2nd inning of the first spring training game.

Pitching Coach: Mel

Hitting Coach: Albert Pujols

Bench Coach: Mike Matheny

Pitching Coach: Chris Carpenter

Catching Coach: Yadier Molina

First Base Coach...  I ran out of ideas for former Cardinals. @Das Texan help.

dont want to hire dave duncan or jose oquendo now?

no tony larussa (I know @SongInTheAir might enjoy that).

Hire Isringhausen to help with the pitchers.

David Eckstein is one of those guys that were ok players but probably would get into coaching.  Pete Kozma (not really sure what he is up to these days).

Please have them hire Jimmy Edmonds as well.

I’m wondering how long it will be before we get the first post on here of someone saying something along the lines of:

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually starting to miss Don Mattingly.”

How don't we have an answer to the Mel question yet. Skip has been officially announced as the new manager for several hours now and it'll take less than a minute for someone to ask him "Hey Skip, you keepin Mel Jr right?"

First Bonds, now McGwire.  We must have Sosa as a hitting coach in the future to complete the trifecta.

Sosa could be the bat boy

Just add AROD as part owner and Ken Griffrey Jr. as special guest spring training instructor.
