Analyst rotation to continue in 2023 minus JP

JP was by far my fav last year and had the best chemistry with Paul hands down.  Shame.  I couldn't stand Rod Allen or Jeff Nelson at all and muted them or watched the other team's feed that day.  Gaby was pretty awful too.

JP was too much of deprecating humor at others expense (Glenn and Paul alike) and too much talking of his own career of which he made himself out to be a Hall of Famer.

This is a good thing.

my wife and I enjoyed his (JP's) humor and chemistry with Paul.  They both ribbed each other back and forth and we had some good laughs during each of their broadcasts.

I will literally never listen to another Rod Allen broadcast as he was the worst of the ones last year and it wasn't even close.  Nelson and Gaby are just meh. Gaby has a slight edge.

Nelson in particular was boring as watching paint dry but at least he wasn't full of himself (Allen was just as boring but was also full of himself).  Gaby would occasionally say something amusing but JP and Paul by far had the most engaging and entertaining broadcasts while the product on the field was absolutely unwatchable.

For as much as I enjoy a good T-Hut rant.....Paul didn't seem to know how to talk to Tommy.  I don't know what it was but man....they had awful chemistry as Paul just didn't seem to get Tommy's jokes and he just never made any attempts at humor back while Tommy was there.  It was just awkward all around.

I'll agree that Rod was bad for sure. Gaby started off decent then really fell off. Nelson is ... ok, I guess.

Honestly if we could just get Rich and Tommy back together, that'd be the best.

Ain't gonna happen sugar tits

Rod needs to go away and never broadcast again.  he was almost a Hollytime level of unwatchable/unlistenable

At least with Rod is was just a couple series and then a break. Holly was FULL SEASONS which made it so much worse. Lol

I just texted my wife, who's in the office at the moment, that they dropped JP and she just shouted out "WELL, I GUESS I DON'T NEED TO WATCH ANY OF THEIR GAMES WITH THEIR F**KING SHITTY ANNOUNCERS THEN"

yeah, not gonna lie, we really enjoyed the shit out of JP and Paul working together. They were my 2nd fav pairing all-time behind Rich and Tommy. The wife didn't follow the Marlins prior to around '09 or so so she only knew Rich and Tommy and can't speak for anyone else prior to them.

Good riddance. He can take his sh-t stain wife with him.

Give me more Rod Allen and...Hutton, obviously.

why do you want me to not watch games anymore?

You were watching games?

Yes silly.  Watched most of them up until a week or so after the ASG and then watched mostly Sandy's starts and when someone notable would finally get called up for their debut.  A good broadcast duo can make a really shitty team more watchable than deserved.  I will truly miss JP and Paul together.  Frozen pizza will never be the same.

Hah -- I meant JPs wife Tomi Lehren.

But it would probably be better for our collective health if we watched less games.

I mean i only watch about half the season as it is now with how shitty they were second half. It'll likely be less if Allen gets significant duties. That's not too much, right?

So they ribbed for your wife's pleasure?

Did she make you cry too?

I agree with you.   JP was my favorite.  Aside from T Hutt, of course. Allen and Nelson are just OK.  Gabby is terrible.  He doesn't speak well.  Just comes across as dumb. Either way, I wish they'd just pick one person.  It's hard for Paul to create chemistry with any of them this way.

By your use of "too" am I to assume she made you cry?

I am sorry that a stranger was able to insert themselves into your day and make you feel so violated.

You got me. I hate her. She makes me feel bad because she says things I don't like.

Going to go cry some more.
