Mariners and Rays dropped their grays because according to them their spring jerseys apparently count towards the 5. That came from them when they dropped their grays.

and from what i've read from other orgnaizations, they have only counted regular season games as part of any rotation.

5 total jerseys, including spring and BP jerseys and including throwbacks, and must include City Connect jerseys.

The Rays and Mariners dropped their road gray jerseys to fit this Nike suggestion.

Marlins have already worn 6 uniforms this year: white, gray, black, blue, red, and teal.

I'm not sure if the city connect counts toward the 5.  I thought we figured the city connects were a separate "given" since they were Nike's idea?

The Nike suggestion says "4+1" and the +1 has to be the City Connect. So the City Connect must be there, so it counts towards the 5 total. It doesn't count towards the other 4 because it's "required."

"4+1" is a weird way to say 5.

Ah it was 4+1 not 5+1, I forgot.

Sure, but 4+1 reflects that 4 are a team choice, the 1 is "mandatory"/no choice.  Doesn't explain how we've had 5+1....I guess they're not counting the blue spring/BP jersey.

“When Nike/MLB made the move to a maximum of four jerseys per club, we were required to reduce our jersey set by two,” explained Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications Kevin Martinez in an email to SportsLogos.Net. “Based on player and fan feedback, we eliminated our powder blue jersey, which we have worn in Spring Training, and our grey jersey.”

I'm assuming at this point it's not 100% mandatory and that some teams just haven't stuck to the suggestion yet. Especially cuz it seems like a Nike "rule" and not an MLB one. Maybe the Marlins drop a jersey next year and eventually everything falls into place with all 30 teams.

It's four rotation jerseys plus one city connect jersey only. I think the Phillies did the same thing with their jerseys, I don't believe the red ones are part of the style guide for this year.

For the Marlins its

Black
White
Grey
Baby Blue (Might not be counted, they might have used old stock for this spring and Nike didn't have to produce/make them)

The throwback is a special event jersey, think the gold championship jerseys the astros and braves have worn. They added them last minute, hence the really bad photoshoot introducing it. Might also be an exemption since the jersey WILL sell well.

Plus one SE - City Connect.

For the Rays for instance its now:
Navy (Road)
White (Home)
Baby Blue (Alternate)
Devil Rays (Alternate)

No city connect so they had to Drop one of the four original ones. Couldn't designate the throwback as CC. Same with Mariners and their 89 Baby Blues

How is this news? While it's "public" information, it's about Avi's private life. This is lame, not cool.

A call to the Marlins’ communications office requesting a comment from Mr. Garcia was not immediately returned.

And this... why? Why should Avi have to make a comment about this? I'd be so pissed if I was him.

They post some of the creepiest stuff that should qualify as stalking cuz they steal it off players social media like "Oh Jon Berti just went skiing with his wife, check out the view of their cabin"

But this one they quoted it off some real estate website so those are the big culprits here.

Overall, they're alright. But they have these few situations and tweets that are really odd that brings them down.

Also their Chapman to Marlins break that got derailed in five minutes. Lol

Yea you're right. I talk shit but I still check them quite a bit as it's a fair spot to kinda get all your Marlins news in one spot and be up to date. And as I've always said you just gotta know what they are and what you're getting with them. Can't take them too seriously but they're also fans like us... just not as funny as us.

who or what is 'Fish Stripes'

question

A bunch of college kids who wanna be journalists running a Marlins fan site. Translation: don't take them to seriously but support their fandom and their way of compiling Marlins news for the rest of us. They mean well.
