Even though I don't frequent their site, as a lot of the articles are the "yeah, and?" type/more for casual followers of the team, I enjoy having there be some more Marlins content out there to peruse, as opposed to absolutely nothing. April 13, 20233 yr Alright, back to the Marlins. I think Soler is actually fine as a DH. Should he be playing outfield? No. But, he's probably the biggest power threat on the team and would have had 30+ homers last year if not injured. I'm not sure why everyone is so keen on getting rid of him. I'd rather replace Avisail Garcia, but yes, I am well aware of why he's on the team......

He guesses himself into some HR streaks every once in a while and will probably hit 30 HRs while leading the league in strikeouts. I'd be okay if he was like our #7 hitter, but the fact we count on him so high in the lineup is... not good.

No, he's not someone who should be the center piece of a line up, but yeah he's the only real option for this team when it comes to power hitting at the moment. His contract is only a problem because the owner is cheap, not because Soler isn't living up to what someone should expect of him.

I don't think anyone is accusing this Marlins team of being a World Series contender, but not only is it incredibly myopic to insinuate that a team can't win a World Series title because of one player's hitting archetype, but you literally acknowledged that it happened two freaking years ago with the same freaking guy you are trashing. Yeah, if Soler is your top guy, it's a problem, but essentially saying that winning a WS with someone like him on the roster is impossible is just silly and blatantly, factually wrong. As for Adam Dunn, put him on literally any team that won the World Series and they still win so long as he is not replacing a superior player. A few initial thoughts on it: 1) That stupid Pitbull jersey doesn't belong there, especially not at the beginning. Just because you have it doesn't mean you should put it there. 2) It looks like they just threw a wall up in front of the old concession stands with how narrow it is.....I'm now in the camp of "why did that take so long?" 3) With that narrow setup, there doesn't seem to be room to add much going forward. 4) It overall is set up in chronological order, but then there are random items out of order on the right side - for example, the Luis Castillo cutout is displayed after the 2012 park opening display. Same with the lockers and trophies - why not make it all chronological on both sides? I guess to aesthetically have stuff lined up as 'every other space' they couldn't do a proper chronological setup? 5) Overall, this seems like a "what do we do with this space? A museum!" effort than a "let's make the best museum we can" effort. I'd have had mannequins with every iteration of each jersey and things like that, but obviously you can't fit that in that narrow space. It would've been double the width if they fully removed the concessions, which gets back to point #3 of they won't be able to add much going forward with the size of the space. Maybe my thoughts will change seeing it in person.
April 17, 20233 yr I just wanna know if Fish Stripes got permission to film that as if they were working for some major news channel. Those guys give me the creeps, like if they came to my house and would film my house like an episode of Cribs without permission. They post a lot of weird stalkerish things like that.

I'm assuming once this was finalized they just saved it for this season to coincide with the 30 year anniversary. And fwiw they said things would occasionally be swapped out so that's how they'll deal with the space issue.

I don't have a problem with it appearing this season.
