But I will say that if Robertson can make a significant difference in helping the Marlins potentially make the playoffs then it’s definitely worth it, even if those two prospects make the big leagues for the Mets or another team in 2027 or 2028. By then the whole Marlins roster will look so different than it does now, and I honestly probably won’t remember those prospects names by then. Actually I already don’t remember their names since they play on another team now. And I didn’t even know their names when they played in the Marlins organization. 😂

Seriously, Avi, Soler, Sanchez are all RF and Hampson/Berti/DLC can all back them up if needed. But seriously having 3 actual RF capable of playing everyday is a bit too much. By trading Coop for Weathers, they are able to sell that they upgraded 3B and now have a similar LHP prospect to work with. My argument is that weathers isn’t close to the prospect Eder is, and we did all of that to get rid of a legitimate platoon bat at 1B and Adam Duvall (Jake Burger)

There’s also the caveat that Duvall is a better defender in the OF and that Burger is a low end defender at 3B / 1B/DH. Let’s hope he takes the next step in Miami!
August 2, 20233 yr Did this team actually get better yesterday? I'm too stupid in my advanced age to figure that kind of stuff out anymore. Doesn't this Weathers dude kind of suck, and he was pitching at AAA? I don't get giving up Cooper for that.
