Worst case scenario, he’s more depth that can provide innings. Hopefully he figures it out and becomes more than that though.

It seems like Coopers name had been on the table for the past few trade deadlines. I remember in either 2020 or 2021 he was pretty close to going to the Dodgers. So that tells me that Cooper has been one of the expendable players and would have been gone sooner or later. Personally I preferred Gurriel at 1B. So I’m not crazy sad about him leaving to be honest. And I wish him to do really well on his new team!

I think the moves helped the team overall (gotta group Robertson in here too), but I think we were all hoping for more.  Hopefully the moves work out but there are certainly some question marks.

it goes back to the offseason where they didn’t do enough then that left us in a spot where there were too many spots to have to upgrade mid season.

 

They should bring the HR sculpture back into the park immediately.

Yes, not afraid to make a move.  Just don't like to overpay.  I don't understand why that's such a crazy concept around here?  

Eder is 25 coming off of TJ.  He might be good, but getting a 23 year old Weathers in return for Mel to fix softens that blow. Also, 5 years of Burger after this. 

Watson has many issues and strikes out a ton.  The two teenagers we traded  are much better prospects and Robertson is a pure rental.  Robertson is good but he's also not elite. He's bounced around a lot for a reason.

I think Cooper is actually better than Bell. Burger is definitely an improvement. Both cost what used to be top prospects that have since lost a lot of value (Eder TJ and Watson being an idiot).

Well done given the circumstances.  Best of luck to Eder.  Getting rid of Watson, bravo.  Burger's contact is a concern but his strikeouts will at least be one less out than Segura's double plays.  Weathers was rushed to the majors and has always pitched above his level.  Needs more seasoning and at 23 could easily start in AA and get his confidence up if he performs.  Got rid of two dead contracts in Segura and mid-Cooper.  Robertson trade is the only one that could really come  back to bite us in the ass.
