Have fish been linked to any FAs at all?

@Michael did you see ZiPs Projections for 2025? They support your theory of a non-100 loss team

Not that I’ve seen.

I’ve seen a few sites mention Bader but as a “good” fit

Affordable for Bruce is $1.00.

Cant wait for all the minor league deals with spring training invites!

A few good young past prospects that could be worth a shot out there. Sorting through the data on these guys but there’s probably at least a Bellozo in the bunch and maybe a few Alex Jackson’s.

Would anyone here object to signing Soto for that amount? Just wondering.

Yes I personally would.

Because that would mean the Marlins have an extra $50 mil a year to spend.. and they could have double their current payroll every year for the next 10 years and actually sign some talented key players like a really good catcher and infielder/outfielder and some lights out relief pitchers and make a much better team. That would be a much better use of that $50m per season compared to just signing one player and keeping everyone else the same. I mean having Juan Soto on the Marlins would be fun as hell, just until the end of the season when the Marlins finish 73-89 and miss the playoffs again because all the rest of the players around him wasn’t enough support to get them where they wanted to go.

If this is a .500ish team in 2025 as some folks here say then Soto would potentially be the piece (7-10 WAR season) to get them in the playoffs. One would have to think he’d also drive attends good chunk.

If he were on this roster, he’d be the first player to be walked in all of his plate apperances lol.

Adames also signed with the Giants for 7/$182M, ending Lou’s pipe dream of signing him…
