Taylor was the 19th overall pick in 2023, was 6th/7th ranked prospect for Rays and 65th-ish in MLB heading into 2025, then had a terrible year and slid out. This year he’s been crushing it though. 17hrs, 20sb, .384obp and almost .900 ops.

But if this is the only trade made today, I'll be pissed. If they add some talent for this year, then this trade becomes much more acceptable to me.You don't improve your chances of contending by trading away your RBI leader.

4 hours ago4 hr when will they understand you have to trade from your surplus of MLB talent to get someone ELSE’S surplus of MLB talent, not fuckin minor leaguers.

I have a feeling all we'll see is the usual "next year" moves....
4 hours ago4 hr Hey cheer up guys, in 2029 or 2030 they can possibly trade Taylor for another "promising return".

4 hours ago4 hr I like the return on Hicks. If nothing is done to help the current team, though, fuck this Front Office.
4 hours ago4 hr The Marlins had too many lefties that suck vs lefty pitchers. But they are good against RHP, so they had good numbers overall. The worst steatches that the team has had this year have been in the wake of a string of opposing lefty pitchers. You can put all your eggs into lefty bats. But it leaves you vulnerable. Between Hicks, Stowers, Conine, and Caissie, Hicks is the least painful one to let go of.
