  1. The good think about having a stadium downtown (like Oriole Park) is that you get a lot of garages competing for prices. I know a garage 2 blocks from the stadium that charges $10 for parking, which is actually pretty cheap. I also know some places to park for free put they are a little sketchy. Closest parking to Fenway is $25. :banghead That's why I take the T--but if it's a Sunday night game going into extras then you might have to leave early because the T won't run later to accomodate game crowds and it stops at like 12:30. :plain
  2. Olivo :whistle They don't count passed balls when they vote for the Gold Glove, right? :thumbup
  3. Just missed it this afternoon.
  4. Have a good one, dude.
  5. UGH! P-L-A-Y-O-F-F-S PLAYOFFS!
  6. Dont do it! Go to a real casino if you want to play cards... I play online poker sometimes but yeah...casinos are a lot of fun.
  7. TheDon is correct.....too many idiots in poker.....plus the bodog system favors them. I appreciate you supporting my post but I think you may have misinterpreted what I was getting at. In a nutshell, if your an above average poker player (in the realm of a shark), you can do well on online poker sites (bodog, party poker, etc). But you have to be very patient and then when you have monster hand, move all your chips in and often some ape will call you. When I mentioned the term, "casino", I was referring to games suck as blackjack etc (any game other than poker). You will get KILLED in the long run playing any online table game OTHER than poker. With that said, if your are not a good poker player, you will get KILLED playing that as well in the long run. Also, if you do play online poker, choose a table where you won't "sweat" the action. By this I mean, if you decide to play a cash game (.50/$1.00 or $2/$4 blind structure) make sure you can afford to lose all your buy in and always buy in at the max buy in. This way if you get a monster hand (flop a hull house) you can push all your chips in and possibly double up. If you buy in for $20 at a $100 max buy in table, then you are already at a disadvantage. And if your a tournament poker player (which I shy away from) then your only risking your buy in (obviously) but you may end up playing for 2 hours and then miss the $ (that why I shy away). But to each his own. If this post didnt make any sense, let me know and I will try to explain it better. Like when you have trip 7's on a short stack and someone else has trip 10's...cause that didn't happen to me last night or anything... :whistle
  8. :thumbup that's awesome man, even though a bit scary. I guess I can say the same living in Boston, wearing my Marlins cap and people just looking at me weird lol. I've seen some Marlins stuff in Boston...I remember seeing a dude with a Cabs jersey shirt on the T a year or so ago. A lot of people up there like the Marlins because of '03.
  9. But will Olivo be worth it? My guess is not likely. Espicially since he's never been worth it before and isn't even this season. His performance this year hasn't been worth $700k? Is $700K seven figures? No. Olivo will get a salary jump probably in the $3 mil range. He wont be worth anywhere near that. Oh, I misunderstood your post. I thought you meant he wasn't worth his salary this year.

  11. and when willis starts hitting again :lol I think Olsen is this year's Willis.
  12. Aguila and Reed can since they played earlier in the year though right? No, I think you had to have been on the active roster on Friday unless you were on the DL.
  13. At least one of those guys, yeah. Outfield depth wouldn't hurt especially since Hermida is injured/his defense sucks.
  14. Anyone who remembers the "Logan Kensing as starter" experiment in 2004 appreciates that it's probably better to go with a vet who has been pitching decent as a spot starter instead of someone making his ML debut who isn't ready yet. I didn't have a big problem with it, and hopefully Ricky got the rest he needed and will be ready to go for his next start.
  15. "This guy's changeup is probably the best I've seen all year," Cirillo said of Olsen. We got ourself a rare gem . Considering that's not even his best pitch...yeah I'd say so.
  16. Eric Reed = Willie Mays Hayes? "You may run like Hayes, but you hit like s***."
  17. His brother is the USC starting quarterback--I just find that amusing. Haven't seen or heard anything from him in years.
  18. Anything from Harry Doyle in Major League "The postgame show is brought to you by....*shuffles around papers and empty liquor bottles*...ah who the hell cares, nobody is watching anyways" "The totals for the Indians... no runs on one hit. That's all we got, one god damn hit?" "You can't say that on the air!" "Don't worry, no one's listening anyways." "Monty, anything to add?" "Uh...no." "He's not the best colorman in the league for nothing, folks!" And right now I can't think of one Anchorman quote to narrow it down to, but I'm gonna try.
  19. I saw him play in Durham a few times this summer...he's a beast. Running joke--and I don't think it was that much of a joke--is that he was upset about being in AAA and intentionally only hit singles.
  20. Sportscenter confirms, Wells to San Diego...not known who the Red Sox got in return.
  21. Two days in St. Louis and we're already infected with LaRussa-itis.
  22. Are they ever gonna bring back the arepa stands?
  23. Dolphin Stadium was never a bad place to watch a game as far as I'm concerned. My main beef with it is the horrible football seating. Yeah, sucks when your seats don't face the plate (see: my seats in Section 403 for the entire '97 playoffs). But on the whole I've never really had any problems with the stadium.
  24. Huge picture of Willy with the headline "Something's Fishy" A new team leads the NL wild-card race. But look who's one game out. Yes, that's Florida joining the fray with nine straight wins. The latest victory came Tuesday in St. Louis via a 9-1 rout. Note that we're actually 1.5 out...nice one, ESPN. :banghead
  25. Cabs was 5th, Carlos was 6th, Train was 11th in MVP voting last year...and I was unaware, but Jason Vargas tied for 8th in ROY voting with 1 point. Hahahaha. link to all 2005 award voting
