Badenhop or Penn?
From Rotoworld: Marlins recalled RHP Burke Badenhop from Triple-A New Orleans. Badenhop takes the roster spot of the injured Andrew Miller, but may not take his place in the rotation. The Miami Herald quotes Marlins president of baseball operations Admin Beinfest as saying, "We have someone in mind (for the Sunday start), but we probably won?t make that move (until later in the week)." Badenhop is expected to be available out of the Marlins' bullpen on Tuesday. Hmmmmmm... any ideas who it could be? :confused

What has suprised you most about this team?
Something important I want to point out. While our bullpen has been great, remember the same thing happened last year. Our bullpen got off to a fantastic start and I'm pretty sure had a similar run of scoreless innings pitched ... but later in the year, the more they worked, the worse they seemed to get. We're only 12 games in and while I'm ecstatic with their performance thus far, let's just wait and see how they fare after a larger body of work because I hope they're able to hold this up most of the way.

You make me feel stupid. (That's a compliment)

4/15/2009 Florida Marlins vs Atlanta Braves game time 7:00pm
Come on Andrew, continue the streak of good, efficient starting pitching.

I think the Marlins have the 2nd best 1-2-3 rotation
Erm, the Yankees are looking anything like #1 at the moment, Wang is horrendous. If we're talking present day, then we're arguably #1. On potential though, Boston probably has the best 3 with Beckett, Lester and Dice-K although you can also argue they're too inconsistent to be #1.

AJ Burnett is a pretty good pitcher
And now he's imploding, 3 straight hits, scoring a run.

AJ Burnett is a pretty good pitcher
:lol Just like clockwork ... 2 minutes later, Crawford singles to left in the 7th to break up the no-hitter.
- AJ Burnett is a pretty good pitcher

The Bullpen
Indeed. While we are only 5 games into the season, I think that if we're still in contention by the trading deadline then I have no doubt that the FO will pull the neccessary strings to upgrade the bullpen like they did last year with Rhodes.

Welcome to AAA Mr. Tucker
Really needs to be switched to the bullpen full-time IMO.

Ramirez continues to duck tough questions
Hanley is the worst shortstop in MLB. He needs to be moved to Center Field. Great idea. While we're at it, let's move Maybin to SS. :thumbup Maybin is a good defensive outfielder.. there's no need to move him. :thumbup Sorry, for those who didn't get it, I was being a sarcastic bastard ... thought it was obvious, guess not. :confused

Maybin bitten by spider
Bitten in the face?! Holy cow.

Huff
We don't need another outfielder. Especially one whose primary position is not in the outfield, at least. If we're looking at using another corner infielder to replace Jacobs, I believe we have a fairly decent one in the minor leagues who is leading the home run race. PASS.

Good News Guys, We Became a Worse Team
We'll get the last laugh when Rhodes lines up to face Utley and Howard...

Jacobs to the Giants?
So after tonight we could be this: 1. Hanley 2. Willingham 3. Manny 4. Cantu 5. Uggla 6. Ross 7. Dallas 8. Molina Beastly. I'd put the order as: 1. Hanley 2. Uggla 3. Cantu 4. Manny 5. Hammer 6. Ross 7. McDallas 8. Molina *shudders*

Jacobs to the Giants?
Not only would this trade upgrade our catching, but it would also allow Cantu to go to first and us to call up McDallas. This trade would make our ballclub infinitely better IMO.

7/28 Post Game Thread
I'm giving this to Fredi. He made the right calls when they needed to be made. Absolutely agree ... a great TEAM win, but Fredi managed the game superbly. Kudos.

Gregg's Delivery
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that Kevin Gregg has altered his delivery a bit in the last week? To me it looks like now he does NOT stand straight facing the mound, but rather on a 45 degree angle and turns around during his delivery. Whatever he's doing it seems to be working, as the dude is flowing straight out gas at the moment, he hit 99mph in Chicago and he just seems much more in control recently. Good sign. :thumbup

Colby Rasmus
Dont get your hopes up. We have nobody to trade, unless we can give up willingham or jacobs which isnt happening. Giving up Willingham or Jacobs would be possible. It would actually be a good trade for the marlins. One will be traded after this season. Hopefully Jacobs I've heard they already have a 1st baseman. I can't remember his name though. I hear he's pretty good... :|

VOLSTAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fredi should have let the guy finish it. Seriously why is Fredi so freaking scared of letting his pitchers finish. Olsen could have finished Volstad should have.I think we all would have love to see him finish it rather then have a heart attack watching Gregg. I'll tell you why. If Volstad blows the game just because of the "romantic" concept of a complete game, Fredi will be criticized to death. If Gregg would have blown the game, it would have been mostly Gregg's fault because Fredi would have made the sound managerial move by placing the team's best interest before an individual achievement. :thumbup

Where does the Marlins rotation rank?
I don't want to "jump the gun" on this one Too late. Seriously guys, it's been 3 quality starts in a row ... let's not get carried away. Give it a few more months and then we'll see where these guys rank.
