  1. They still keep in touch, calling each other almost every day. But life goes on. Amezaga says he is happily married. :lol They make it sound like they're having an affair in a long-distance relationship.
  2. From Rotoworld.com: Kaz Matsui will miss four to five days with an anal fissure. That's an unnatural tear or crack in the anus skin, for those of you not in the know. Matsui is expected to be out until at least Friday. Anal fissures can become chronic problems, but the Astros hope using a different medication will sooth Matsui's issue. :o :| :lol Um ... ouch.
  3. It has to be said, you come up with some ridiculous threads...

:lol : This will be filed under "stupid lawsuits" right next to the guy who sued McDonalds when he spilt his coffee because it was "hot".
  5. Doug Waechter: Pure stuff, can possibly be a staff leader one day. Can work deep into his starts with his low 90's fastball. Has struggled with his mechanics, needs work on his changeup, not to mention he gets lit up by left handed hitters. Can possibly become a 4th or 5th starter in the future, but can be a great asset to any bullpen once developed. :| Doug Waechter and "staff leader" should never be used in the same sentence. Ever.
  6. 3B Dallas McPherson!!! I am EXTREMELY surprised by this move. Granted he's coming off back surgery so he may not be ready to contribute straight away in '08, but damn, he could be a potentially good pickup.
  7. Still better than Gil Meche's deal.
  8. He sucked in the AL. Only time will tell if that changes.
  9. Per Rotoworld: The Phillies have reportedly turned down the Marlins' offer for third baseman Wes Helms. The Marlins offered a pretty generic relief prospect in Scott Nestor, but the Phillies still should have been happy to dump Helms' salary. This is just a case of Pat Gillick not being willing to admit he made a mistake. In the first season of his two-year, $5.45 million contract, Helms hit .246/.297/.368 in 280 at-bats. NEXT.
  10. Teixiera, Dunn, CC, Santana, Burnett, Sheets, Punto, F. Rodriguez :lol :|
  11. I almost wish that he was traded to Detroit, just so he could be reunited with his soulmate.
  12. Andy Marte/Aaron Boone/Trade via the young pitching we have.
  13. All those people who say they won't be supporting the Fish as much anymore, better not jump back on the bandwagon IF we start winning again.
  14. omfg ... what a pimp. :lol
  15. According to Rotoworld, the Yankees have decided to include Phil Hughes in the package for Santana. Looks like Santana will be in pinstripes shortly.
  16. As per Rotoworld: The White Sox and Scott Linebrink have agreed to a four-year, $19 million deal, ESPN 1000 in Chicago is reporting. Sort of a bad break for the Brewers, as they'll have to settle for a second-rounder to go along with their supplemental first-round pick. As horrible as their pen beyond Bobby Jenks was last season, it figured that the White Sox would bring in one of the top free-agent setup men this winter. This may add some fuel to the rumor that the White Sox will trade Jenks for a center fielder -- Melky Cabrera has been mentioned -- but we doubt that will happen. Linebrink figures to give up a lot of homers moving to the AL Central and U.S. Cellular Field. Still, he'll be a durable and fairly reliable setup man, likely for the life of the deal. The White Sox really needed to improve their pen, this will help. Agree with Rotoworld's comments though, Linebrink may not be as successful in the AL Central.
  17. Yeah I don't think this is good for us shopping Cabrera. This really came out of left field, I was sure he'd go to the Rangers or White Sox.
  18. I've been saying for a long time that we should sign Podsednik, he has all the intangibles of a player that we need. While we're at it, let's trade Cabrera for Nick Punto.
  19. What if we were to trade Jacobs and have Uggla at first? I think Uggla could be a great first baseman, defensively. At this stage I think I would rather keep Uggla than Jacobs, but I'm not overly attached to either.
  20. :lol These armchair expert trade proposals keep getting better each day.
  21. A-Rod a Mud Hen? Triple-A Toledo makes a playful offer November 1, 2007 TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Alex Rodriguez a Mud Hen? Spurred by an offhand remark from George Steinbrenner's son, the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens want in on the A-Rod sweepstakes. The Mud Hens playfully offered the prize free agent a deal Thursday -- a contract proposal that includes a bonus for hitting 75 home runs next year and leading them to 10 straight International League titles. Rodriguez recently opted out of his $252 million, 10-year contract with the New York Yankees. That prompted Hank Steinbrenner, son of the Yankees owner, to tell the New York Times: "Does he want to go into the Hall of Fame as a Yankee, or a Toledo Mud Hen?" The Mud Hens conjured up an offer to find out, said Jason Griffin, a spokesman for the Detroit Tigers' top farm team. Toledo created a Hall of Fame plaque of Rodriguez wearing a Mud Hens hat and sent a letter to his agent, Scott Boras. The deal stipulates that Rodriguez will have to compete for a spot with Toledo third basemen Mike Hessman, the league's most valuable player last season. "Would your client be willing to play a different position?" the letter asked. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-a...p&type=lgns :lol Awesome.
  22. Loria's flying Bonds in for the slumber party.
  23. Girardi to A-Rod: Bunt :lol
  24. This won't happen, but can you imagine... CF - Hanley RF - Hermida SS - A-Rod 3B - Cabrera LF - Willingham 1B - Jacobs 2B - Uggla C - Whoever
