  1. Donnie bleepin Murphy is going to hit a walk-off in the first game of the season.
  2. i think this would be a cool uniform for 2012 http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh24/jayjaxon/MiamiConcept.png I refuse to accept the Devil Rays former road uniform EDIT: Ok, you know what, I can't remember what this reminds me of. The font just sucks.
  3. It's a baseball made by 2k. You honestly expected them to get details like this right?
  4. Just to be sure I'm understanding this right: Hensley can't close because he's missing that "killer instinct."
  5. Whatever happens, Hensley better either be the closer or a starter
  6. I'm not watching the TV feed. What did they say?
  7. Wouldn't Loria fire Ozzie the moment he says something to him?
  8. Leaked documents turn Marlins from stingy to greedy: http://bit.ly/9xeXsy This hate-filled article starts by scoffing at Loria's and Sampson's excuse for making so much money in 2006 due to a desire to stay in the black as a means of acquiring confidence and financing for a new stadium (which worked), and then follows by stating that if Loria couldn't afford to finance the team (which he did) he should have sold it to a city so they could sell overpriced tickets. Because real businesses grow money on trees. The entire blog exists off the basis of trolling and just, in general, being angry and negative. It also ignores that, for the most part, the Marlins retaining most of their players since 2006 has made it very difficult to make any amount of money without committing financial suicide. This article pretty much says that the Marlins should just, in the words of Michael Dell, "...shut it down and give the money back..." Keep in mind this is after attacking the team for their actions in 2006 in an article written a few hours ago. With this train of thought, the Heat should immediately be disbanded right now for their horrible 2007-2008 record regardless of their current situation as it stands now. Girardi should also be fired from the Yankees.
  9. I hope Badenhop/Sanches is ready. Maybe Hensley can throw in some long relief. Ohman should be good to go too. Veras should also be prepared to step up his game. I wonder if Nunez can pitch two innings. Whoever gets called up also needs to warm up.
  10. Maybe they're just tired? Didn't they get there at like five in the morning?
  11. This is just a load of bull. Hensley dominates in the Spring, the feeling he gets is he actually did it and made the rotation, and get gets replaced by a complete failure of a left-handed pitcher because he's left handed. Why do we care about a left-handed starter? WHY? Each team in we face will probably see him .7 times this season. OOOO. Screw Nate Robertson, Hensley deserves that spot.
  12. Yeah, Raynor is sortof surprising. I know he's had a lot of fans on this message board. I wonder if he'll stick with the Pirates. Does anybody? Does anybody what? Does anybody "stick with the pirates". If he does turn out good all they will do is trade him for three guys who aren't even good prospects. Come to think of it, it's almost as if he never left the Marlins at all. If I'm on the Pirates and I'm a few games back from the division lead, I'd be worried about the five High-Schooler who's about to replace me. Starting immediately.
  13. Nic Ungs has thrown a no-hitter in the AA level, and he did it against the hottest team at the time. However, and this is coming from an old scouting report, he's not brought up because they feel he pitches too much to contact, which they doubt will work in the majors. I say bring him up just because he's been consistent lately, and the pitch to contact argument makes me angry. From the wiki: "In 2005, Ungs was 7-6 with a 3.68 ERA for the Mudcats. He pitched the first complete game no-hitter in Carolina Mudcats history, a 2-0 win against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx on July 29. West Tenn led the league in hits, doubles and triples, and had a team average of .280 entering the game. The next year, his record was 9-9, 3.99 for the Albuquerque Isotopes. In the 2006 Americas Qualifier for the 2008 Olympics, Ungs was 2-0 with a 3.52 ERA for Team USA to help them earn an Olympic slot. He tied Heath Phillips and Zack Segovia for the team lead in wins." http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Nic_Ungs
  14. I hope the Mets don't still hate us for crushing their playoff dreams two seasons in a row and end up pulling a Nationals on us. I still don't understand why the Nationals cared so much that series.
  15. Cantu was supposed to bat next... :'(
  16. I want Nick Johnson back. I don't care if he's hurt, just give him the bat and let him stare at the pitcher. It works, and he doesn't have to run anywhere.
  17. I blame god for deciding to make Cantu's life hell for three hours.
  18. I really want Bonifacio to start at 2B... but where do you put Uggla?
  19. Miller over Volstad? What is this blasphemy? Our choice is between a guy who everyone claims will be godlike but at the moment is like a kitten vs the person who's 2-0 with a .80something ERA, whom also shut down the Yankees AFTER being told he was being sent down after a powerful spring. The only thing that could possibly stop Volstad now is some unknown left fielder sliding into him and tearing his ankle to pieces.
  20. Moehler dumps windup, sticks to stretch and goes 1-2-3.
  21. Oh, the things Loria will say if they win while Girardi is at home...
  22. Is it just me, or are those black jerseys a little unlucky?
  23. Why couldn't the East play this craptacular last year?
