  3. I'll be in my bunk I didn't know you were into Hech like that.
  4. If Dietrich is temporarily benched, does that mean Benched is temporarily Dietrich?
  5. I liked the part where our guys high-five'd at the end. Also, wolf sound.
  6. Look, Misterkol, you know I'm down to scrap if you are. Out by the swing. Or jungle gym,

  8. Really late to this post but I have two things to contribute: 1) Mystikol is an internet coward Jets fan. 2) This is my contribution to the whinny/winnie discussion, Winnie Cooper:
  9. I think we all understand what the thought process was--it's not very flattering to think about. They are pretty stupid and short-sighted if they did not even consider at the time of the Dominguez trade the possibility that they might be trading Hanley Ramirez away three weeks later. It's almost like on July 4th they didn't even consider that the team had no shot and thought that Lee was the only fix they needed. There's no excusing how they handled this. You don't trade Dominguez away unless you are certain that Ramirez will hang around. Sure, they tried to remedy this by bringing in Cox but he was projected to be more of a bust than even Dominguez was. Furthermore, the addition of Carlos Lee would still be hailed as stupid regardless. Trading away Dominguez is only one side of the equation. It's not flattering but it's what it is. It was one of those things that on it's own basically means nothing (I still don't care about this trade and it involved both my teams) but in the bigger picture of what's wrong. It's not about trading away Doming, it's about the stupidity of having zero foresight. Hey Rabb nice to hear from you Dude! That is pretty accurate but the FO has made a habit of leaving the cubbards bare...My pet peeve is how poorly they have been drafting in most recent except for 1 or 2 players, they have only brought in pitching. That in itself is not a bad thing but when the entire organization is lacking position players of impact regarding prospect status, they need to do some rethinking of their talent evaluation strategy, A very small amount of prospects are really homegrown Good to be back. I was seeing so much red last season that I couldn't see the keyboard to post about my anger. We suck at drafting and/or developing players, so who is our new GM? The former VP of player development. I don't even know.
  10. It's pretty simple guys. Stupid, but simple. Jose at SS, Hanley at 3B. They, at the time, totally didn't think they were going to trade either of them away anytime soon. As such, there was nowhere to put Doming. Now, of course, our FO was incredibly short-sighted and traded both of those dudes away, so this ended up being incredibly stupid. But if they had kept them (they'd still be under contract), nobody would be talking about this.
  11. Last night, WrestleMania went from whatever to "pretty decent" in my opinion.
  12. Going back to 1920 in the live ball era for all rookies, Jose has the best ERA+, 5th best ERA (best in 32 years), 2nd best WHIP (best in 56 years), and 6th best k/9. He was historically good this year.
  13. I am a very huge Jets fan. I know I know, I grew up in South FLA but I hate the Fins, partly b/c of the way they have treated the Marlins in the past. Anyways, today, the Jets only star player, Darrelle Revis, was traded. I was very P/O about the trade, I believe the Jets got swindled, but you know what, even though I'm furious, I'll still be a Jet Fan. The reason why I bring this up is to ask you people (marlinsbaseball.com) two questions. Does this remind you of a trade the Marlins could possibly make soon? and two, if Stanton were to be traded, would you still be a Marlins fan? I would. Panthers, Marlins, Heat, and Jets FTW! Feel Free to comment. It doesnt remind me of any Marlins trade. The Jets chose not to pay Revis $16 million a year since they have a ton of other needs. It was either trade Revis now, or let him walk away like the Texans did with Mario Williams. Knowing that, I am fine with the trade. Hopefully they'll draft well on Thursday. Stanton will get traded, its just a matter of time. The Marlins traded everyone else this off season, so anyone who is still a fan will remain a marlins fan, IMO That sounds like the reasoning behind 100 Marlins trades.
  14. We have to have a league... I'm the reigning champion! Admin, Dr. Dr... where you boys at?
  15. thats not to say they cant close out relatively strong, and manage somewhere around a 72-90 record, but theyre dead as far as the WC goes. It's worth noting that September is no walk in the park either. 5 vs ATL, 7 vs WSH, 3 vs DET.
  16. I feel like he is impossible not to like. He loves to have fun, he is absolutely fantastic, and he has seemed to embrace the fan base despite its lack of attendance. I mean, clearly the last part is just a matter of saying the right things, but a lot of players ignore it or talk badly about it. Well, the lack of attendance is much less noticeable with half the seats of Sun Life Stadium... I could understand the players' frustration when all you can see is orange seats. Not just that but 15K cheering at the new ballpark sound much louder than even 30K did at Joe Robbie. This place gets fantastically loud.
  17. Really not sure why Gorkys wasnt on the team as a reserve outfielder but whatever. I'm pretty sure the reason is because he's worse than the reserve outfielder's we have had up.
  18. Yes. Still not a reasonable trade. Not that there is one.
  19. It makes you wonder if some of the people in charge are having some second thoughts about some of the pieces in the set. I myself always thought that the road jersey was awful mostly because the white lettering over grey is hard on the eyes. It's kind of shocking to me that the orange hat has been worn maybe twice over the past two seasons. Yeah. I'm surprised that we haven't worn the orange hat a single time this year. That said, I've always heard it was up to the players (usually the SP) what to wear so it might have less to do with the people in charge and more to do with the team.
  20. What would a contender want with Ruggiano?
  21. the fact that he has been through that much and hes only a year older than me makes me feel like ive done nothing with my life I'm a year and a half older than him. Thanks for making me feel like s***. I've just gotten to that point where I'm older than most of the starting lineup and the rotation. It's weird.
  22. Just as an answer to the topic; because this team is playing at an all-time bad level. The 1962 Mets, widely considered possibly the worst team of the modern era, were 16-38 through 54 games. We're 13-41. We're on pace to go 39-123, which would be the most losses in modern history and the second worst W-L%. And while our pitching is only bad and not super awful, we hit like it's 1964. I think being historically bad is worth being down on.
  23. To be fair, I think anyone would have gotten the same pop for cashing in the MitB briefcase. I disagree. Ziggler is really over in the NY/NJ area. While there would have been cheers for anyone, they would not have been as loud. Hopefully they give Ziggler a decent title reign as he should become their next big star. I think it's less about the area and more about the Smarky Smark Smarks who after 4-5 hours of WrestleMania still feel the need to go to another WWE event. A large percentage of that crowd probably wasn't from NY/NJ.
  24. It is not a Miami fans problem, it is an ownership problem. I talked to a lot of people at the ballpark and their main complaint was that they feel Loria doesn't give a sh*t about them or about the team. It's both the fans and ownership. FO went out and spent last year, people still didn't show up. They spent in 05, people didn't show up. The casual fan has made excuse after excuse after excuse not to go, they had none last year until mid-June when the team started to tank. It's not just the ownership.Toronto Blue Jays attendance 2012 2,099,663, avg 25,922 Miami Marlins 2012 attendance 2219444, avg 27,401 I'm pretty sure more people ACTUALLY showed up to Toronto's games rather than bought a ticket and said, "f*** it we ain't going" as was the case with the Fish. "Turnstile Clicks" People doing go for spending just because money was spent. They go for spending when that spending because the spending causes winning. Spending money and losing doesn't count.
