  1. I am absolutely amazed at the fantasy world some of you kids live in that you think Ramon Castro could hit 35, even 25+ homeruns in a season. When major league pitchers have a chance to pitch to him a few times and the word gets around he'll be lucky to stay above the Mendoza line over the course of a season. The guy can barely hit .250-.260 in PR for god sakes against the equivalent of AAA pitching, what do you think will happen when he faces the best pitching in professional baseball? The only place he'll ever hit 30 homers is in the Pennsylvania Penal League. Do you know how players improve? PLAYING TIME! All Castro needs is a year in the big leagues to adjust to the pitching and he'll be hitting them out the park left and right. EVERY game if we were down by one, the game was in the 8th or 9th, and the pitcher was due up in the inning, everyone wanted Castro in. I think we only went to him once in a situation like that and he had a walk-off homer. Castro just nmeeds playing time, fool.
  2. Pudge is full of himself. Sure he's a great catcher and he helped us during the play-offs, but he demanding money and saying he won't accept anything unless it's done HIS way which is way out of line. If he wanted to stay here he'd work things out. He's obviously all about the money.
  3. Actually, I heard on ESPNews that the Marlins will probably keep Pudge because the O's said they want Lopez.
  4. Javy Lopez or Pudge, both are very good catchers and they'd both be popular here in South Florida.
  5. I wasn't talking about Lee. I was talking about Lowell.
  6. We can certainly replace Lee's offense but his defense will be missed. I love Lowell but he doesn't really have the best arm. Whoever are first baseman is will have to work with the infielders.
  7. If we aren't resigning Urbina and trading Looper, I hope it's for bullpen help. Our BP doesn't look to good right now. Besides Fox, right now the best pitcher in the bullpen is Nate Bump... Nate... "I love walking Padres" Bump... Or Rick Helling... Rick "I got a double this season" Helling.
  8. Yay. In Peter Gammons' face.
  9. Though I was one of the MANY who wanted a different second baseman I understand why the Marlins wanted him so much. He and JP will kill pitchers and foul off plenty of tough pitches. Our line-up looks REAL good next year. JP, Louie, Lowell, Cabs, Gonzo, Conine.
  10. I could go on and on with this but I don't feel like arguing.
  11. You people are so damn soft. It's not like Castillo has been saying the club isn't treating him good. And every dynasty has to start somehow. It's not like every team averaged 30,000+ fans in their first 10 years of existence. We will get our fans so stop with that 15,000 crap.
  12. I see it this way. If you're not with us, you're against us. Especially if he goes with the Cubs or Mets.
  13. Dude, we aren't getting him. We can't afford him. J/k... Anyway, we aren't getting him!
  14. If he's gonna be that way with the Fish I say screw him. JP > Castillo
  15. He just won a World Series with THIS team, THIS team has treated him like their best player the best 6 seasons, THESE fans love him, THIS team is offering the same amount of money as the other team yet he still has to "think about." Can anyone explain to me why he'd want to go with the Cubs anyway?
  16. We haven't signed everyone yet and we odn't know who we'll sign, but with Pierre and Louie (If he signs) back at the top, the number three hitter should be either Mike Lowell or Cabs. Lowell can get his share of hits and can hit around .300 and he can go the other way too. Plus he has power. Cabs has all that except a poor batting average. Any comments?
  17. I read somewhere that because of this deal we might me able to kepe AJ and the reason for the trade was for money for the pitchers. It could possibly be AJ and Choi for D. Lee. I'd take those two over Lee any day.
  18. It's not impossible but it's doubtful. We could let Pudge, Lee, Encarnacion, and Castillo all walk. Pudge replaced by Castro or Willingham Lee replaced by Conine Conine (In LF) replaced Cabs Encarnacion replaced by Vlad Sign a cheap 2B. Or call up someone. Not impossible.
  19. I thought Louie wanted to be in a place where every at bat didn't mean you were going to ge traded or not. That's basically how it is in New York and Boston. I see him as a Cardinal. They got rid of Vina for a reason and Castillo will only make their defense even stronger. Plus he's a great lead-off hitter. Add that with their starting pitching and the Cards CAN be very strong next year. And Oh yeah, Albert Pujols. :lol
  20. I've heard that story from Jack 3 times already. 1) Marlins on Deck. 2) Play-offs. 3) Tonight. It's still hilarious though.
  21. Are you really 12, sheff? 'Tis what I heard.
  22. That died quick.
  23. Uh... our team has been playing injured all 5 games. Wade has played only a few games in limited minutes because of his injuries, Odom was out for a game or two because he was injured, Jones was out for a game, and even when they all come/came back, they can't be playing their best basketball. Let's not forget Caron and Rasual are both out too. This team is way better than 0-5.
  24. Big Hugg, Mike Lowell looks funny as hell in those pictures.
