March 25, 2005

well as everyone has already seen, we won our game versus the astros yesterday. i always get excited when we play the astros because they're one of my favorite teams. sure i play for the marlins, but i'm from the north side of houston, so i've grown up with the astros. it's always been the astros, the cubs (thanks to wgn), and the braves (thanks to tbs). most of the regulars were playing except berkman - i remember watching him at Rice when i was in high school. also, their manager, phil garner, is from my hometown. i have known him ever since little league. his youngest son is a year younger than me, so we've always played in the same leagues together. but i didn't get a chance to get any astros autographs this time.

anyways, on to the game recap real quick. d-train was back on track last night as he shoved and raked - a double threat. he had a few knocks and pitched lights out. since i'm sure everyone knows what went on in last nights game, i won't touch on it anymore. i will note that i crushed some chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk before the game - those are my downfall.

but today, is a sad day. i find it only fitting that it rains (we're under a severe thunderstorm watch until 3:54). the baseball gods up above were sad to find out that i got traded today.......to the minor leagues. haha. i used that joke about 5 times on some of the players. never gets old. so it's time for me to get my at-bats, hopefully do well so i can get back up to the big leagues later this year. i really don't mind getting sent down. i like playing everyday and getting all the at-bats i can. i guess you could say i'm selfish ?? nah... plus i'll miss the spreads (food).

i guess now the only journal entries i might write are going to the be the ones on how the prospects down below are doing.

oh and holly, i want a few copies of that picture. maybe some 5 x 7s so i can send to some friends. i'll gladly pay you for them. but you'll have to find me on a backfield one day....

Aww man that sucks Jorgy. I have enjoyed your writings immensely and would love to see them continue. Your inside look at everyday Spring Training from a player's P.O.V. has really been an amazing. Good luck, and I know that you will make the big leagues one of these days soon. Your skills on defense at catcher make you too valuable to not have at least as a backup.

thanks for all the journal entries jorg, really enjoyed reading them.

Good luck in the minors, and hope to see you at Marlins (Dolphins)Stadium soon.

Thanks so much for doing this Jorg...I truly enjoyed reading your journals and look forward to more. If you go to the Mudcats I will definitely make the trip down to thank you in person. Good job this Spring and hopefully you will get your shot sometime in the near future. You now have a few hundred hardcore Marlin fans who are now huge Jorg fans too.

its all good jorg.

tear up the PCL. See ya soon in Florida.

And i hear ya on the Stros. I remember the good old days of the 80s with the Stros.

Bill Doran will forever remain one of the all tiem great players to wear a Houston uniform.

Great Journal Jorg! I am sorry that you got sent back down, hopefully you will be back soon.

Good Luck :) Thanks for writing all the journals, they were awesome.

I will be happy to get you copies of the picture but how do I get them to you?

thanks so much for doing all these journals jorg. im sure you already know, but we all really appreciated your time. hope to see you in the bigs really soon :)

I really appreciate you taking the time to do these journals for us, and if you keep doing what you're doing I'm sure we'll see you in the big leagues at some point this season.

that'd be really friggin funny if holly actually charged him for the pictures.

good luck jorg..it was nice meeting you while you were here. keep in touch with us geeks.

Thanks so much for doing these Jorgie, you made a ton of fans here.

...and keep up the hard work, you'll be back up with the big team before you know it.

:cheers

Tear up the PCL so they'll have to bring you back up to the Bigs! And thank you very much for being so generous with your time. When you play your first home game at Dolphins Stadium you'll have more fans cheering for you than any rookie in the history of the Marlins! :thumbup

Jorgy,

Thanks for the journals. It's been great knowing what's going on behind the scenes at spring training. Don't worry about being sent down, dude. You'll be back soon! Good Luck! :thumbup

Thanks for taking the time to write the journals, they have been great!

Tear it up in the minors, we're hoping to see you with the big team soon.

In the meantime...

I'm sure everyone here would agree, we'd love to keep hearing from you whenever you get the chance. Don't be a stranger, you are always welcome here.
