September 4, 200620 yr I do not know what others think of this guy but he is really impressing me. I dont see him as a starter but I really like him coming out of the bullpen. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.
September 4, 200620 yr Author Well in his last 6 outings hes walked 2 guys total so maybe hes finally turning the corner. And that .182 BAA is just flat out disgusting.
September 4, 200620 yr I see him as a starter over a reliever real impressive when he can stay near the strikezone
September 4, 200620 yr I think he got squeezed today. He can walk the odd guy so long as he can K the guys coming up behind. Plus I like the second lefty in the pen.
September 4, 200620 yr Not bad, but still needs to mature a bit more. Any of you know what his OUT pitch is?
September 4, 200620 yr Not bad, but still needs to mature a bit more. Any of you know what his OUT pitch is? It looks like his change to me.
September 4, 200620 yr lefty specialist next year with Tank as the setup/closer why would you make him a lefty specialist when no one can hit him?
September 4, 200620 yr He's a starter. He's probably going to be traded this off season, but he's got a lot of pontential. IMO Pinto>Nolasco. One of the two should be traded for a CF.
September 4, 200620 yr He just needs to keep down the walks and the wildness. after that he'll be like Sanchez has been so far.
September 4, 200620 yr His pitches have a sh*t load of movement. I was very very impressed with what I saw in person, I don't know how it translated to TV, but goddamn does his stuff just look unhittable. Too bad control is an issue with him.
September 4, 200620 yr he had an excellent august and is starting sept. out the right way. long relief? he's pitching himself into a top MR or SU role.
September 4, 200620 yr he is liriano/santana-esque. I don't know if i'd go that far. Don't think he has the pure stuff of either one of them. I think the best comparision to Renyel Pinto is an Al Leiter type. Lets hope Pinto can control his command problem like Leiter did. Pinto projects as a starter btw, no doubt.
September 5, 200620 yr Our bullpen has been shaky lately it be nice if we use him more often in the pen. :cool
September 5, 200620 yr He's a starter. He's probably going to be traded this off season, but he's got a lot of pontential. IMO Pinto>Nolasco. One of the two should be traded for a CF. I feel the same way. I'd rather trade Nolasco for a CF'er than Pinto. The past few games his command has been better and if he can keep it that way I think he could be a nasty starter.
September 5, 200620 yr the only way that nolasco catches us a good cf is if he stops his recent skid of futility...pinto has absolutely rediculous stuff and i dont think its a stretch by any means to say he has liriano/santana stuff...his stuff is filthy, end of story...and if beinfest trades him, ill be very disappointed...although...as many on here say...in beinfest i trust!
September 5, 200620 yr I really like Pinto. He looks like he has the makeup of a superb pitcher. Hopefully the wildness will decrease with experience.
September 5, 200620 yr He looks a lot better than I gave him credit for earlier.. I've been impressed, when he's not wild. It's nice to be wrong and hopefully it stays that way. I see him next year as a MR.. and if something goes his way, you never know.
September 5, 200620 yr lefty specialist next year with Tank as the setup/closer why would you make him a lefty specialist when no one can hit him? Because some people are stupid. I sure hope he becomes a starter.
