I've read on other boards (from Mets fans, mostly) about how unprofessional Rich and Tommy were on the broadcast today. Personally, I like listening to them, even though they are homers, but some people said they were way worse today. Anyone watching the game care to comment?

I do admit, they are a bit homerish and really were today after the game ("CELEBRATE ALL YOU WANT!"), but for THEM to call OUR guys homers and unprofessional is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle....actually no, it's like the pot calling the silver dollar black.

Exactly, they aren't nationally syndicated broadcasters, they are our guys and supposed to be somewhat homerish.

In fact, I like it that way...

 

I like hearing Tommy getting fired up, I like hearing him say CELEBRATE ALL YOU WANT!

 

I wouldn't have it any other way, as the Mets fans "nestle" out of the stadium

Met fans were all pissed off that they lost. Tommy gets just as emotional as we do in here.

The Mutt fans that saw our telecast need to move their sorry asses back to NY and stop complaining. They are OUR announcers and are supposed to be homers. Now if we can get rid of Minervini the Mutt fan we'd be set.

That they're so homerish is one of the reasons why I LOVE listening to them. I love the way that Tommy can be so passionate in the booth, I can watch the game alone and still feel like I am watching it with good friends. Also, there are times when things go wrong and all you can do to make yourself feel better is to vent and let the world know, and Tommy does that for you and it seems to make things a little better in the crappy times.

All Mets fans that don't want to listen to them can just go back to NY. Effective and I won't have to smell them on opening day ever again.

I don't mind hearing Tommy, Rich i can do without hear, as joyful as he is with a win, when the team lose, i think he is going to cry.

Rich and Tommy are awesome, they are passionate about the team and they let it show in their broadcasts, that is the main reason why i think they are so great they show emotion they cheer for the team just as i and all of us here do.

Considering the fact that the Mets have NATIONAL ANNOUNCERS that are obviously rooting for them, I will call it even.

Rich and Tommy are awesome, it's really just Tommy that's awesome but w/e! I wouldn't have them any other way.

I LOVE them. They keep me watching the game even when the Marlins are down like 20 runs. I love their little jokes.

I love Tommy and Rich. So what if they are homerish their our announcers. Also I love Tommy and his passsion, he roos for the team as hard as we do and usually he tells it like it is.

Rich and Tommy are great Mets fans are just pussys and crybabys that cant win an important game w/o someone losing it for them(Bucknor)

 

They dont criticize other teams, they praise them sometimes and only say the best about the players but they do point out weaknesses.

They just pissed because we beat their ass and stoped them from making the playoffs......again. I love Rich and Tommy they are the best announcers ever.

You haven't heard a homer announcer until you hear the Rays guys when they beat the Sox or Yanks, they were worse this year. As for Rich and Tommy I was a little disappointed that they didn't give the Muts so some serious crap, about being losers.
