But if Fredi is such a moron, how are we at .500, we were (and still are) in the playoff hunt. With all the aspects of the team that are underperforming, the offense and pitching inconsistencies, firing Fredi and replacing him is not suddenly going to make the team that much better. Maybe a new manager will win us two or three games, but who he is managing and how they are playing may be the bigger problem.

My thoughts exactly.

There's no doubt that there will be another major purge of players at the end of the season. Herm, Uggla are all gone. Too expensive. Cantu and Ross maybe gone also. Too inconsistent play.

 

 

The purge should come now. We don't have to give guys away or even give up on the season. But we do need to exchange some of these all-or-nothing hitters with guys who know what they're doing.

 

 

I can live with trading Uggla and Hermida. I say them two because I think they can be replaced and can net us good players.

And I disagree with your post about JJ. He is going to be here for a while. He will get a contract extension this off-season.

No way that was Fredi's call. Bonifacio probably saw the 3B playing back and thought he could beat one out. What he didn't think of was that Feliz has played over 6000 innings at 3B and only committed 74 errors.

Well I'd hope so, so just chalk it up to a bad decision by Boni. Freddi might want to tell him it's probably better to just swing away there. It wasn't even a close play at first.

I'd like to tell you that I was at the game, had a great view of that Bonifacio bunt, and the 3rd baseman was playing in on that. Actually was nearly at Bonifacio before the bunt was even laid down. Every marlin fan in the stands was pissed in the stands. So no he didn't see the "3rd baseman playing back", he was on the infield grass, he just had his own agenda and it was an easy EASY out for Feliz.

I really hope you aren't serious and watched the game, we really did lose. So what if Cantu is hitting .285, your proud of that? I can see your point of expecting Cantu to drive in the winning run but small ball in that situation seems more logical. With a guy on third there are many more ways to score. No we are not at all. All we are is an average team this year. Inconsistent starters, bad back of the rotation, terrible hitting every other game. We are nothing more then an average team at this point.
