Posted August 8, 200915 yr Marlins Win 3-2 ....soooo after a loss, the boards crash and we go crazy ranting in the post game thread... but after this win, theres no post game thread 30 mins after the game? Geex
August 8, 200915 yr I would've made one, but I wasn't around my laptop. But anyway, great to take the first game of the series.
August 8, 200915 yr Sean West to start tomorrow's game. Ayala to AAA. Good stuff tonight, 7 solid innings from Ricky, 6 straight multihit games from Cogs, homers from Cody & Nick, Leo gets a nice quiet 1-2-3 save. :thumbup
August 8, 200915 yr I had a bad feeling they were gonna blow it somehow. Thankfully it all worked out.
August 8, 200915 yr Coghlan's catch in the 7th inning was the number 3 Web Gem tonight on Baseball Tonight.
August 8, 200915 yr Great job by Nolasco today. Good job by the pen as well. I am still wondering why the hell Pinto is allowed to pitch in close games, though.
August 8, 200915 yr I'm tellin ya, this is the start of good things to come. I think that Nationals series made everyone a little too angry including the team, they are for sure not gonna repeat like that again. Even with the sweep, we have won 10 of our last 16...that's pretty good guys, and most of those losses have been very close late innings.
August 8, 200915 yr That was a great 5 pitch inning from Leo to close it out. I was surprised Pinto got the 8th and not Meyer, but it still worked out. The team really needed this win. Lets hope they can come through again tomorrow. Not to forget, another quality start from Ricky.
August 8, 200915 yr Can we overcome that following Phillies staters, Hamels and Moyer? I'm just concerned these real scared games, as you know. Tonight game was an audition.
August 8, 200915 yr Hamals has been kinds off this year. I think we stand a better chance of beating him than Moyer.
August 8, 200915 yr So this is what the upside of the manic depressive curb looks like...hmmmmmm :brigginbounce

Yes, he gave up that homer, but it's CBP, that would have been an out everywhere else.
August 8, 200915 yr Bye Ayala, I want nothing to do with you. Especially with the way Fredi manages a bullpen...allowing Ayala to face lefties like McCann and Nyjer Morgan.
August 8, 200915 yr The perfect response to the humiliation in DC. Nolasco is now 6-2 with a 2.58 ERA in 12 starts since his return which is most definately ace like numbers. Coghlan seems to be playing much better ever since NJ slotted in behind him in the order in place of Bonifacio.
August 8, 200915 yr We have to face Moyer AGAIN? How does that keep happening??? Hamels we can beat, but Moyer is our kryptonite.
August 8, 200915 yr We have to face Moyer AGAIN? How does that keep happening??? Hamels we can beat, but Moyer is our kryptonite. I believe the Phillie's continually adjust there rotation so that Moyer faces us as much as he is able. It was in an article at some point last year but it's been written about.
August 8, 200915 yr We should call up all the minor league bats on our 40 man to start against Moyer because at least they haven't already been dominated by him countless times.

Let's not forget how Nick Johnson has played since his acquisition...he has been on base every game he's played for us.

I know one time this year he was supposed to pitch inthe series before us and Manuel held him back so he'd pitch against us.
August 8, 200915 yr Huge win, but still frustrating to see the offense not do much. There's really no reason they should be struggling against Joe Blanton...Ricky won us the game, it's very rare that 3 runs is enough to outscore Philly. The offense needs to start clicking and fast...if we sweep here we're right back in the race for the division.
August 8, 200915 yr I swear, If Nolasco pitches the way he is now for an entire season, he will be considered one of the best pitchers in the league. Dude is flat out dominant.
