Shaft
BTW this was "7/9" except I think you looked at your computer clock without realizing its just past midnight I voted for Ricky. Nice to get a win off a good pitcher in Dan Haren
enterthemadness
Have not seen the catch, but I voted for it. And saved the game really. Would had been 5-2 Arizona, instead it was 2-1 Marlins and a 3-2 Marlins victory. Over those AAA D-Backs.
Hotcorner
just the way you draw it up, especially against a tough pitcher like Haren. starter goes 7 strong & the pen finishes it off. Great to see Ricky getting into a little bit of a groove lately. Ties him for 2nd most wins as a Marlin. Hensley for closer 2011?
ArtisticHate
Very pleased to see another good Ricky start. We really need him. Then pleased to see Coghlan get 3 hits because he was starting to scuffle. Even during his 8 game hitting streak, he had a run of games where he only knocked out some "dinky singles" so its important that he keeps getting those hits at the top of the order. I know Cantu went 2-5, but I'd still like to see Uggla in the 4 spot.
AeroFishOne
Nice to have a post game again after a few days off. Ricky Nolasco gets a close runner up even though he really goofed on his error, but Stanton saved the Ball game with the catch. Good to see Cantu get two hits even though it still wasnt the greatest performance. Stanton seems to be getting better and better making good contact. Thats all I can remember for now. Oh and Clay Hensley is Pimp with striking out the side.
Sirspud
Really tough call with Nolasco and Stanton. Nolasco had his best start in a while it seems like, but obviously this turns into a completely different game if Stanton doesn't make that awesome catch. He's also starting to swing the bat aggressively, and he hit three balls really solidly and only got one hit. A week ago we thought he may need to be sent down, but he's really making the adjustments and I get the feeling he can do something every time he gets an AB. I Love Me Some Fish
I voted for Stanton....he doesn't make that catch, they're probably doomed....sadly enough
Bret Hart
I vote for Giancarlo. It was huge run-saving catch. (almost Grand Slam. WOW) If 'A Small' Cody Ross were played in RF, I would gurantee he can't make it. What a Catch. What a Big Worm.
Erick
Nice team win. I guess we should expect a loss tomorrow? Would it be too much to ask for to win both games this weekend?

CyggyMarlin
I'm wondering how long Cantu will remain in the 4 spot after the ASB
canada-marlin24
good win. ricky was good. didnt gain a game in the wild card because those f***ing rockies are at it again where they cant lose. but were gonna need a hell of a run to catch the braves....good thing we have plenty of games left with them. pains me to see cantu and paulino really struggling. the next two games are must win with the mets playing the braves. alejandrasnow
I voted for Ricky but I wanted to give an honorable mention to Hensley. He looked great out there.

You're really scoreboard watching right now? All I really care about is seeing this team put wins on the board. They've got to get to .500 before they can even think about how far out of a playoff spot they are.
...
[stanton] hit three balls really solidly and only got one hit. A week ago we thought he may need to be sent down, but he's really making the adjustments and I get the feeling he can do something every time he gets an AB. That line-drive double he hit to the top of the LF wall was a bullet and got there in about 2 seconds. The guy is amazing. He, a mere 20 year-old rookie with about 2 dozen games under his belt smashes line drives like nobody else in MLB. I mean, he absolutely rips the hide off the ball when he makes good contact. I've never seen anything like it in almost 50 years of watching. Hutton mentioned his power also, and you could tell that he was sort of floored by the raw majesty of it. Almost speechless. And rarely is Hutton at a loss for words. I have no doubt that the estimates of a 500+' HR in AA are true. The power he has is downright scary. Really scary if you're standing a mere 60' 6" away. A ball leaving the bat at 150 mph (the double averaged 120-130 all the way to the wall) gets to the mound in about a quarter of a second. I'm hoping that no opposing pitcher ever takes one in the head, the poor schlub could wind up dead.
LordMagnus
Its pretty amazing how Ricky has as many wins as Josh Johnson and hasn't pitched nearly as well. He did get some luck as the Diamondbacks missed some complete cheese pitches right down the middle of the plate.

It makes me smile - legit.

PhxPhin
A lot of solid efforts last night .... CC played well, but was left stranded a couple of times that double by stanton was laser and that catch unreal ricky pitched well, but was very close to get rocked .... montero was hitting him hard and he got away with a couple right down the middle pitches to guys who usually put them out of the stadium .... with the fielding error I have trouble giving it to him though i'll probably go stanton and it was nice hearing all the praise he was getting from the d'backs announcers as well
Schnellders
4 wins in a row for Ricky and his strikeouts numbers returning to normal after a stretch of not that many earlier in the year
