Unfortunately, SD replaced the .548 OPS Everth Cabrera with Tejada. I'm hoping our offense can strike early and praying for a sweep.
July 30, 201015 yr If we're lucky, we'll win two. As I recall, the Padres were tough against us earlier on so this will definitely be a tough series. I'm not so sure about tonight's game, this could be the worst but who knows. We do have JJ and when Ricky is good, he keeps us in the ballgame. Overall, it'll be a tough challenge.
July 30, 201015 yr Realistically we can take 2 of 3 in this Series pending if Rocky and J.J. can pitch well like they have as of late. If we take two, we still have a small shot but a lot of factors have to go right and other teams have to lose. The Chance for us really isn't in our own hands, it's in the hands of the teams ahead of us and if they continue to win or not.
July 30, 201015 yr I wouldnt rule out a sweep... Im serious too.. If we do one of those where we steal a win Friday... we just need JJ and Ricky to be on for both Sat, and Sun and a sweep isnt unexpected. Of course leave it to the pen to blow one of the weekend games.

July 30, 201015 yr Hanley's not in an 0'fer slump. He doesn't have an extra base hit in like the last 22 games however, which is quite horrible and worrisome.

July 30, 201015 yr Im confident we can win Sat and Sun but we need to steal one tonight with Voly going. Of course the pen has a knack for blowing JJ wins so who knows. What I would do for Voly to go 7 with Ricky and JJ pitching CG. It also be nice if Hanley decided to hit again.

Hanley hit 460 shots in the HR Derby but is trying for opposite field singles in real games. I'd rather he be a 30 HR guy at 280 than a 340 punch and judy hitter.

If it's a misspelling, I'm still going to call him Rocky from now on. :lol Also, this poll was very comical. I think we can win two of three if we somehow manage to get Cody and Hanley hitting and if whoever is playing 3rd (I haven't been up on the post Cantu trade news) can contribute instead of being a black hole on defense and in the lineup. I was listening to the game over the radio yesterday and the announcers were saying that maybe after the trade deadline passes Cody would be less stressed (assuming he isn't traded, of course) and his alleviation could translate into better play. Obviously this is all a bunch of 'maybes' but if it comes to fruition that would be a nice boost. Along with Uggla being on fire, Mikey loving the West Coast and our 2 best pitchers starting on Sat. and Sun., I think we could realistically win 2 of 3.

"Lined to left, OHHH it took his glove AND his hand off! BALLGAME!"

People say Nolasco is better than Sanchez and I think when he is on, he is the better pitcher but Sanchez has been better this year. He's been very consistent.
July 30, 201015 yr Would be really nice to steal the first game of the series Yeah if we can somehow just absolutely own LeBlanc early in the game and put up 5 runs in the 1st and get to their bullpen by the 3rd they should wear out and we could steal game one then we have very high chances of winning 2 and 3. Need a solid outing from Volstad and need to tire the extremely talented Padres bullpen and not importantly not be losing going into the 7th and 8th innings because if we are the game is pretty much over with the Pads setup men and Closer.
July 30, 201015 yr I think we can win 2 games this series. However I also thought we would win the series the last 2 times we faced the Padres at home this season and we won neither. In fact we are a pitiful 1-5 against them this year.
