Johnson to see Andrews

Featured Replies

Maybe some of our players are just injury prone.

Well, I am more referring to the seemingly/reportedly minor injuries that are later found to be more serious.

We've also had situations where it seems like several players have hidden injuries, but I don't really see how the staff can be responsible for those.

If this team is serious about contending anytime soon were gonna have to go out and spend money on a proven ace or at the least a number 2. JJ cant go a season without tailing off at the end or getting hurt. Hes just not a dependable ace. Itd be nice to get a guy like Marcum from Milwaukee whose a free agent. But we prob need another pitcher too plus maybe another to be sure Volstad isnt in the rotation.

If we hear tomorrow that he needs TJ again then ...

How is that even possible? Has that happened before?

Yea its happened. But I doubt thats it, as this is apparently a shoulder issue, not an elbow.

Dr. Andrews found no structural damage in JJ's shoulder. Got a cortisone shot and won't throw for 10 days. Forget July 16 return. #marlins

And a collective sigh of relief has been shared among Marlins fans.

That is good news. Sometimes you need the shot to relieve the inflammation.

I wouldn't rush him back. Late august return to get some work in for next year. I'm afraid he's going to breakdown if they rush him back. Lock up anibal now!

If the problem is that he doesn't feel 100 percent, why the heck doesn't he go out there and pitch anyway. I know all of you are thinking, we don't wanna see JJ ruin his career, but pitchers these days don't have careers anymore. The moment they feel anything they are shut down for a month. Then if they don't feel perfect they are shut down for another. It's all in the name of not having then get injured further, or ruin them, but why does it matter when all the precautions are pretty much having the same effect as the actual serious injuries would?

Ron Dibble is that you?

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Josh Johnson is the next Tim Spooneybarger. He has potential to have a great career but he just can't stay healthy. I still think the organization should let him go eventually. It's not too much to ask for pitchers that can keep themselves from falling apart every other season or so.

Is that the Shawn Marcum that's never thrown 200 innings at the major league level?

Wow. This is just awesome.

I don't agree wit him, but JJ does have a knack of getting injured. First the elbow in 07, then the missed time last season, and now his shoulder.

Pitchers are whining *beeeeeeeeeeeep* these days...seriously. 'Oh, we throw harder and faster.' Blah blah blah, whatever.

Also, they're all on your lawn.

Spooneybarger the reliever?

Tim Spooneybarger threw about 90 innings in his career.

This had absolutely nothing to do with my post.
