In Semtember,

Brantly : 9-game starts. (including tonight)

Buck : 4-game starts.

Maybe Ozzie has already decided "catcher platoon" system? or Brantly will be our new regular catcher for 2013?

And Brantly calling ANOTHER beautiful game. I say he's working pretty well with the whole pitching staff. Oh, and he can hit the ball as well.

Kinda doubt it'll stay this same ratio but I love that they're giving him a lot of starts in September to get a good look. He'll hopefully work out some of the defensive kinks but looks really solid with the bat.

Great outing by Jacob. Turner and Brantly looking like players. :thumbup

The Miami Tigers looking good... Turner was solid and Brantly impressing

And Sanchez is 2-5 with Detroit, ERA up from 3.94 to 4.40, SO/9 down from 8.2 to 5.4, WHIP up from 1.256 to 1.553. Under-performing, generally, but he has been going almost 6 innings per start.

Infante here was 287/312/442/754, in Detroit 261/285/389/673. With 7 errors in 186 chances versus 8 in 435 chances here, but error assessment by official scorers is pretty arbitrary. But, still, also under-performing, generally.

Small sample sizes, but all in all looking like a very good trade. Turner shows signs of being really good and Brantley looks able to effectively plug one of our holes.

On July 24, the date the trade was made, Detroit was tied for the Central lead and 1/2 game back in the WC. Today, they are 1 back in the Central and 4.5 back in the WC. Oops. Maybe they can go after Hanley next.

No, no, no. Don't you know that Bronco says it's all coming from the dugout?

:lol

While some think when he is looking into the dugout he isn't looking for help on how to pitch to guys he has only seen on TV. They are blowing kisses back and forth.

Only seen on TV?

Start with post 19.

Here's a tid-bit:

Brantly has been catching the starters in their bullpen sessions, talking to the pitchers as much as he can and spending a lot of time watching them on video. But it's not like Brantly feels he's at any disadvantage in his situation.

That was a MONTH ago. Meanwhile, he's caught 17 of 27 games.

Stanton is a streaky hitter. He'll figure it out. He's not Miguel Cabrera who is going to bat around .300, but he'll launch a lot of long balls.

Bro hes 22, of course hes not batting 300 right now. Give him time, bet you he will be better than Cabrera when he's around 26-27

Bro, read what he said again.
