September 27, 201213 yr Anyone else thinking he can hit better than some of the players already on the roster.
September 27, 201213 yr MLB tweeted: "Greenberg will record his first official MLB at-bat on Oct 2 vs Mets." But what if he walks?!
September 27, 201213 yr with how this season has gone he'll probably get hit in the head again and go blind or something awful. Here's hoping he has a nice long AB though!
September 27, 201213 yr Just let him play the whole game. It's not like we are going to do much worse.
September 27, 201213 yr IBB. How f***ed up would that be? the Mets might be capable of something like that lol
September 27, 201213 yr Also, Marlins General Manager David Samson -- really, ESPN? Also also, from Jew to Jew.
September 27, 201213 yr Also, Marlins General Manager David Samson -- really, ESPN? You didn't hear the news?
September 27, 201213 yr Author Anyone know how this works $ wise? Do they just give him a pro-rated salary? Edit: I heard he is going to give whatever he gets to charity.
September 27, 201213 yr I don't like it. Because you don't like good stories about doing something nice for someone who had his dream taken away?
September 27, 201213 yr Anyone know how this works $ wise? Do they just give him a pro-rated salary? Is he doing it for free? I saw a tweet saying he was donating his 1-day salary to charity.
September 27, 201213 yr loria is such a fraud. this was all for his pr. OF COURSE he comes into the room in the middle of Greenberg's conference call with the media. He also sought out the media about the Fredi comments, not the other way around.
September 27, 201213 yr Of course it's mostly for PR. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. It's still a nice thing to do for Greenberg. The friggin Cubs didn't even offer!
September 27, 201213 yr Of course it's mostly for PR. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. It's still a nice thing to do for Greenberg. The friggin Cubs didn't even offer! That was the saddest part. Due to the way his career was cut short, they should have given him every opportunity to get that one last AB in the Majors. No wonder the Cubs have been cursed since 1908.
September 27, 201213 yr The Marlins get some positive PR out of it, how does this make it any less special for Greenburg? It is like when people complain that some rich guy gave money just to get his name on a building, so what? The building got built and everyone else gets the benefits.
